Poverty and the Atkinson BI/FRT model: A note

International Review of Economics, 2007
By endogenizing an income-oriented poverty line in Atkinson’s (1995) model, welfare maximizing conditions for a basic income/flat rate tax scheme in economies with income poverty are derived and briefly discussed. (JEL: I38)

TANNAKA DUALITY AND THE FRT-CONSTRUCTION

Communications in Algebra, 2001
We apply Tannaka duality machinery to a one-generator category, which gives a general version of the FRT-construction for what we have called the homogeneous and non-homogeneous categories. In the case of n-homogeneous category, we present a Hopf algebra approach for solving the mixed Yang-Baxter type equations.

Some Ethical and Legal Issues of FRT

2020
This chapter considers some of the ethical and legal issues of FRT. Ethically FRT is problematic and legally challenging, ethically because of its intrusiveness and legally because the technology exceeds and tests the jurisprudential boundaries. Some examples of where and how FRT is used to illustrate the issues, and how privacy campaigners have ...

COSEMISIMPLE HOPF ALGEBRAS AND THE FRT CONSTRUCTION

Communications in Algebra, 2001
Since the quantum groups have been invented by Drinfel'd [5], they have mainly been considered from two directions: deformations (or quantizations) of universal enveloping algebras of complex semis...
