Superconductivity in Nanosystems: A Fruitful Path to New Phenomenology in Quantum Materials [PDF]
We reason that various recent works by different groups reporting new phenomenologies in superconductors can be understood in a unifying way as instances of the appearance of novel competitions (or synergies in some cases) between the coexisting orders at play in superconducting materials.

Influence of length of cutting on root and shoot growth in dragon fruit (Hylocereus undatus)
An experiment was conducted at ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Research Centre, Vasad, Gujarat during 2016–17 to observe the influence of different cuttings lengths on root and shoot growth in dragon fruit for optimizing/standardizing the length of cutting for diverse environmental/edaphic conditions.

Yield Evaluation of Citrus Fruits based on the YoloV5 compressed by Knowledge Distillation [PDF]
In the field of planting fruit trees, pre-harvest estimation of fruit yield is important for fruit storage and price evaluation. However, considering the cost, the yield of each tree cannot be assessed by directly picking the immature fruit. Therefore, the problem is a very difficult task.

The seed pod valves of Australian Banksia attenuata plants are not simply bi‐layers which bend when dry. These experiments and models reveal complex mechanics, which allow seed release only after several steps of seed pod opening. Stiffness gradients prevent delamination of the valves during loading, and a shape‐memory function protects the seeds ...
