Influence of fruit number on fruit weight and yield of kiwifruit

Scientia Horticulturae, 1990
Abstract Kiwifruit crop loading relationships published for pergola-trained vines in Hawkes Bay are shown to hold over a wider climatic range, several seasons and for T-bar training systems. Absorption of solar radiation by the vertical foliage ‘walls’ on the T-bar would reduce differences in total energy absorption between T-bar and pergola systems ...

A Progressive Weighted Average Weight Optimisation Ensemble Technique for Fruit and Vegetable Classification

2020 16th International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and Vision (ICARCV), 2020
Image classification of fruit and vegetables at supermarket self-checkouts is a complex problem. Significant variations in the size, shape and colour of objects are involved, along with potentially large variations in the environmental conditions, must be accommodated to implement such a robust and effective system.

EFFECTS OF ETHEPHON ON RASPBERRY FRUIT RIPENESS, FRUIT WEIGHT AND FRUIT REMOVAL

Canadian Journal of Plant Science, 1975
Single or repeated sprays of up to 1,000 ppm ethephon ((2-chloroethyl)phosphonic acid) were applied to red raspberry (Rubus idaeus L. cv. Willamette) plants during the 1971, 1972 and 1973 harvest periods. Single ethephon sprays were followed by surges in fruit ripening, decreasing the total number of harvests required per season.

Relationship of Fruit Morphology and Weight to Fruit Strength in `Meeker' Red Raspberry

HortScience, 1990
Fruit weight and morphological characteristics of `Meeker' red raspberry (Rubus idaeus L.) fruit, including drupelets (height, diameter, number), receptacle cavities (depth, diameter), and pits (individual weight) were measured five times in 1988.

CROP YIELD AND FRUIT WEIGHT OF LARGE-FRUITED CRANBERRY VARIETIES INTRODUCED IN BELARUS

Fruit-Growing, 2022
The crop yield and fruit weight of 23 varieties of large-fruited cranberries have been assessed in 2017–2020 in the branch laboratory of introduction and technology of non-traditional berry plants of the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Fruit classification based on weighted score-level feature fusion

Journal of Electronic Imaging, 2016
We describe an object classification method based on weighted score-level feature fusion using learned weights. Our method is able to recognize 20 object classes in a customized fruit dataset. Although the fusion of multiple features is commonly used to distinguish variable object classes, the optimal combination of features is not well defined ...

QTL detection for fruit weight, fruit firmness and fruit cracking tolerance in sweet cherry

2012
Rain-induced fruit cracking is one of the most limiting factors of cherry cultivation in many growing regions. Thus, breeders seek cracking-tolerant varieties. INRA has recently started a breeding program aimed at applying multi-trait marker-assisted strategies, which have to be preceded by the study of the genetic determinism of agronomic traits of ...

Within-bunch variability in banana fruit weight: Importance of developmental lag between fruits

2001
Within-bunch (inflorescence) variability in banana fruit weight is of great importance: distal fruits (at the bottom of the bunch) are 30 to 40 % smaller than basal fruits at the top. We hypothesize that this variability is related to a developmental lag between fruits.
