Near-Infrared Imaging Polarimetry of Young Stellar Objects in rho-Ophiuchi

open access: yes, 2008
The results of a near-infrared (J H K LP) imaging linear polarimetry survey of 20 young stellar objects (YSOs) in rho Ophiuchi are presented. The majority of the sources are unresolved, with K-band polarizations, P_K < 6 per cent.

Ultrafast Excited State Dynamics and Functional Interfaces Probed by Second Harmonic Generation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Understanding the ultrafast excited state dynamics in organic semiconductors after optical excitation is a key requisite on the road towards efficient organic solar cells. Additionally, the creation of functional interfaces built from organic molecular

Deformation, Sandstone Detrital Zircon Ages, and Provenance in and near the Eocene Leavenworth Fault Zone, Washington [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The North Cascades is an excellent area to study basins and strike-slip faults that formed during regional transtension. This structural, petrographic, and U-Pb geochronological study focuses on the Eocene Leavenworth fault (LVF), which separates Eocene ...

A modified FDTD algorithm for processing ultra-wide-band response

open access: yes, 2023
Finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) is an effective algorithm for resolving Maxwell equations directly in time domain. Although FDTD has obtained sufficient development, there still exists some improvement space for it, such as ultra-wide-band response ...

Structuring of particle-associated bacterial communities along the extracellular polymeric substance gradient of sinking and suspended particles in an oligotrophic, subtropical region of the western North Pacific Ocean [PDF]

open access: yes
Extracellular polymeric substances, such as transparent exopolymer particles (TEP) composed of acidic polysaccharides, are important particulate organic carbon (POC) components of marine environments that affect particle dynamics and ocean carbon export.
