Individualization of the FSH starting dose in IVF/ICSI cycles using the antral follicle count

open access: yesJournal of Ovarian Research, 2013
BackgroundThe FSH starting dose is usually chosen according to women’s age, anamnesis, clinical criteria and markers of ovarian reserve. Currently used markers include antral follicle count (AFC), which is considered to have a very high performance in ...

Reproductive adverse events in patients with non‐Hodgkin lymphoma treated with chemotherapeutic regimens including cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisone or CHOP with rituximab: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesPediatric Discovery, EarlyView.
The regimen of cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone (CHOP) or CHOP with rituximab (R‐CHOP) is the first‐line treatment for non‐Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). Nine articles involving 331 patients were included in the meta‐analysis, the pooled proportion of reproductive adverse events was 22.3% (95% CI 11.4%–33.2%; p < 0.001). The findings

Hypericin and resveratrol anti‐tumor impact through E‐cadherin, N‐cadherin, galectin‐3, and BAX/BCL‐ratio; possible cancer immunotherapy succor on Y79 retinoblastoma cells

open access: yesPrecision Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
Hypericin and Resveratrol can be proposed as beneficial accompanying reagents in cancer immunotherapy and retinoblastoma treatment. Abstract One of the detrimental features of retinoblastoma is highly invasiveness of this type of cancer; the ability to metastasize into distal organs even in the early stages. This phenomenon highlights the importance of

Atomic Force Microscopy Reveals Differences In Mechanical Properties Linked To Cortical Structure In Mouse And Human Oocytes

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Using Atomic Force Microscopy, the link between oocyte mechanical properties and actin cortex organization is investigated. In mouse oocytes, a thin actin cortex results in stiffer oocytes, while a thicker cortex leads to softer ones. Maternal age affects oocyte mechanics by altering cortex structure.

Serum anti-Müllerian hormone is more strongly related to ovarian follicular status than serum inhibin B, estradiol, FSH and LH on day 3.

open access: yesHuman Reproduction, 2003
BACKGROUND The study aim was to compare the relationship between serum anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels and other markers of ovarian function with early antral follicle count on day 3. METHODS A total of 75 infertile women was studied prospectively.

Systematic review and meta‐analysis of COVID‐19 association with human semen quality: Changes in semen parameters pre‐ and post‐COVID

open access: yesUroPrecision, EarlyView.
Abstract Coronavirus disease (COVID‐19) is caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2), which may infect the cells through binding with the angiotensin‐converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptors that can also be found in the male reproductive organs.

Linearizing nonlinear optics

open access: yes, 2016
In the framework of linear optics, light fields do not interact with each other in a medium. Yet, when their field amplitude becomes comparable to the electron binding energies of matter, the nonlinear motion of these electrons emits new dipole radiation
