Uncovering the Community Structure and Adaptive Characteristics of Soil Protists Across Natural, Semi‐Natural and Highly Degraded Habitats

Habitat type influences protistan diversity and community structure and its effect is stronger than that of geographic distance at large spatial scales. We revealed 9 ecological clusters of soil protists and their environmental preferences and found protistan consumers foraging targets may concentrate under degraded environments.
