MOISTURE MEASUREMENT BY FT-IR-SPECTROSCOPY
Drying Technology, 1994ABSTRACT This contribution reports on the use of a FT-IR-spectrometer for measuring concentrations during the drying of thin films of Polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) and Methanol. Calibration was carried out by differential weighing. The spectra were taken in transmission mode while dried air was blown over the liquid films. The obtained accuracy was +/− (5% +

Characterization and Identification of Micro-Organisms by FT-IR Spectroscopy and FT-IR Microscopy
1994A large series of physical techniques has been tested for the characterization of microbial cells. These techniques include gas chromatographic (GC) and high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) techniques, gel electrophoresis, pyrolysis mass spectroscopy, fluorescence and chemiluminescence techniques, flow cytometry, impedance measurements ...

FT-IR and Raman Spectroscopy of C58BN
1997The standard electric arc generator was used to prepare fullerenes substitutionally doped on the surface with boron and nitrogen. The material is a unique case of a molecular crystal of high symmetry, consisting of molecules of extremely low C s symmetry. FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of the C58BN were measured in the spectral region 2000™30 cm™1 and over

FT-IR Spectroscopy in an Industrial Laboratory
Applied Spectroscopy, 1984FT-IR spectroscopy is used widely in many industrial laboratories. In combination with techniques such as gas chromatography, diffuse reflectance, and photoacoustic spectroscopy, it provides a means of tackling certain problems which would be impossible or at least very difficult and time-consuming with the use of dispersive Infrared instrumentation ...

Protein Analysis by FT-IR/ATR Spectroscopy
Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) is a powerful tool for the study of inorganic and organic materials. In the past years, many efforts have been put forward for the use of FT-IR in living cells and tissues, and as a diagnostic tool to study pathology in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro, due to its peculiar advantages, which include high ...Graziani, Gabriela +3 more

Comparison of FT-IR and Raman Spectroscopy
1980Paralleling the evolution of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy during the 1960’s and 1970’s there have been rapid developments in the area of Raman spectroscopy. The laser serves only in a secondary role for FT-IR spectroscopy, but as a source for excitation it has greatly revolutionized conventional Raman spectroscopy and led to the advent of ...

Reflection Spectroscopy With The FT-IR Microscope
SPIE Proceedings, 1989The FT-IR microscope is a versatile sampling accessory used to record IR spectra in either transmittance or reflectance modes and capable of obtaining data from microscopic sampling areas. Because the FT-IR microscope simplifies the collection of reflectance data it has renewed interest in reflectance spectroscopy.

FT-IR spectroscopy of methylmercury-exposed mouse lung
Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, 1995Infrared spectroscopy which has traditionally been utilized by chemists and physicists for characterization and identification of the structural properties of chemical compounds is now becoming more relevant as a biodiagnostic tool. Recent reports suggest that arthritis and Alzheimer's disease can be diagnosed by using this technique.

The solution structure of concanavalin A probed by FT-IR spectroscopy
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure and Molecular Enzymology, 1988The secondary structural properties of various forms of concanavalin A in solution were investigated by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy in the Amide I region. As in the crystal, the solution structure of the native protein consists mainly of antiparallel beta-sheet.
