Quantitative analysis of shales by KBr-FTIR and micro-FTIR
Fuel, 2014Abstract Fine-grained texture, complex mineralogical composition, and diverse organic matter types cause large heterogeneity of shale, and the resulting analytical challenge can only be met with high-resolution techniques. Quantitative determination of clay minerals, quartz and carbonates, as well as organic matter in shale on a micrometer-scale is ...

Cyanoacrylate adhesives, known as instant adhesives, consist of cyanoacrylate esters, which were discovered by chance in the middle of the 20th century. They are transparent and colourless. They polymerize rapidly at room temperature in the presence of atmospheric moisture.

The increased attention which multitouch interfaces have received in recent years is partly due to the availability of cheap sensing hardware such as FTIR-based screens. However, this method has so far required a bulky projector-camera setup behind the screen. In this paper, we present a new approach to FTIR sensing by "inverting" the setup and placing

We describe a new method of multi-touch sensing which can be unobtrusively added to existing displays. By coupling individually controlled optoelectronics to the edge of a planar waveguide, our scanning approach overcomes prior disadvantages of optoelectronic multi-touch sensing.

AbstractThe results described in this paper demonstrate that Identifiable FTIR spectra of components separated by gas, supercritical fluid, and liquid chromatography can be measured in real time using a common approach. The sensitivity of each Interface is comparable with that obtained by interfacing the corresponding technique with a bench‐top mass ...
