ESTIMATION OF FIRING TEMPERATURE OF ISLAMIC CERAMIC USING XRD AND FTIR [PDF]

open access: yesShedet, 2017
Firing minerals plays an important role in the estimation of firing temperature and thermal transformation in ceramic components. In this study, a comparison between XRD and FTIR was used in order to identify the firing minerals of ceramic from Al-Fūsṭāṭ,

The purity improvement of cellulose and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) from the conversion of OPEFB waste using NaOH 12% treatment

open access: yesMenara Perkebunan, 2019
Cellulose purified from baglog OPEFB waste using NaOH 10% treatment only produced α-cellulose 80.2% which then being converted to CMC with the purity of 73.4%. Low purity of this CMC did not meet the standard for food-grade which requires purity above 99.

Monitoring and simulations of hydrolysis in epoxy matrix composites during hygrothermal aging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, we studied the water transport in thermoset matrices. We used Fourier Transform Infrared analysis (FTIR) during sorption/desorption experiments to investigate the interaction between sorbed water and the epoxy network.

Thermal and dielectric fingerprints of self-assembling elastin peptides derived from exon30

open access: yesAIMS Biophysics, 2021
Three elastin peptides derived from a peculiar elastin sequence (exon 30) were investigated by Infra-red spectroscopy (IRTF), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and dielectric spectroscopy (DDS) to clarify the relationship between structural ...

Mineralogical Analysis of Historical Mortars by FTIR [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2018
A method for quantitative mineralogical analysis by ATR-FTIR [1] has been used first time for analysis of historical mortars. Mixtures of different minerals and gypsum were used in order to measure the minimum band intensity that must be considered for calculations and the detection limit.
