ATR-FTIR Spectroscopy-Linked Chemometrics

2023
Japanese knotweed (Reynoutria japonica), an invasive plant species, causes negative environmental and socio-economic impacts. A female clone in the United Kingdom, its extensive rhizome system enables rapid vegetative spread. Plasticity permits this species to occupy a broad geographic range and survive harsh abiotic conditions.

FTIR spectroscopy studies of nucleic acid damage

Talanta, 2000
Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra of RNA isolated from tumour brain (glioma) and DNA isolated from low-dose gamma-irradiated epididymis cells of rats from the Chernobyl accident zone have been investigated in the 700-4000 cm(-1) region. The total absorbed radiation doses were equal to or less than 57 cGy.

2D-FTIR Spectroscopy of bacterioRhodopsin

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2000
2D-FTIR Spectroscopy was applied to study the slower states of the membrane protein bacterioRhodopsin (bR) photocycle, with the bR adsorbed on a ZnSe ATR-crystal. 2D-FTIR absorbance changes are presented in a more convenient way for analysis than in traditional 2D-FTIR spectroscopy.

Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy

2017
The use of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy has been considered to be one of the most effective techniques to study and understand the chemical and surface chemistry in various types of membrane. In this chapter, the role of FTIR techniques to monitor the change of membrane surface chemistry was discussed.

Secondary Structure of Monoamine Oxidase by FTIR Spectroscopy

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1995
The secondary structure of human monoamine oxidase A and bovine monoamine oxidase B has been investigated by Fourier Transform Attenuated Total Reflection Spectroscopy (FTIR ATR). The experimental results are compared for both isoenzymes and the data are incorporated in a statistical attribution of secondary structure of the enzyme describing the ...

FTIR Emission spectroscopy of surfaces

Journal of Molecular Structure, 1982
Abstract A number of vibrational spectroscopic techniques are available For the study of surfaces, such as ATR, IR reflection-absorption, IR emission, etc. Infrared emission is hardly used, although interesting applications are possible now due to the high sensitivity of Fourier transform IR (FTIR) spectrometers. Two examples, where infrared emission

Industrial applications of FTIR spectroscopy

SPIE Proceedings, 1994
The position and advantages of FT-IR among other analytical techniques are discussed, especially in the surface and microanalyses. Two typical examples of FT-IR applications being done recently in our laboratories are presented. Molecular orientation and surface morphology of mechanically rubbed polyimide films used for the alignment layer of liquid ...
