Biomedical applications of FTIR difference spectroscopy
SPIE Proceedings, 2000FTIR spectroscopy of proteins has the unusual disadvantage of providing too much information. Thousands of individual bands contribute to the spectrum, leading to an overlap so extensive that essentially all detail is obscured. FTIR difference spectroscopy is a perturbation approach designed to overcome this problem: instead of the compete FTIR ...

The use and misuse of FTIR spectroscopy in the determination of protein structure.
Critical reviews in biochemistry and molecular biology, 1995Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy is an established tool for the structural characterization of proteins. However, many potential pitfalls exist for the unwary investigator.

FTIR spectroscopy of ordered polyaniline films
Synthetic Metals, 2003Polyaniline films were produced on the surface of crystalline silicon wafer during the oxidative polymerization of aniline. Infrared spectroscopy revealed the self-ordering of polyaniline chains via hydrogen bonding. The films were annealed at 120°C. The deprotonation of polyaniline has been observed but the film structure was preserved.

Tetrafluoroethylene: high resolution FTIR spectroscopy
Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys., 2002High resolution FTIR spectra of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) were measured in a cell cooled to approximately 160 K. Rovibrational analyses of ν9, the b-type band at 1339.9 cm−1 and ν11, the a-type band at 1187.6 cm−1 led to assignment of 2691 and 3101 lines respectively, with Jmax = 87. Ground state combination differences generated from these transitions

SubTHz and FTIR spectroscopy of explosive vapors
35th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves, 2010Discussed are experimental results of subTHz vapor phase spectroscopy over solid samples of explosives, such as commercial trinitrotoluene (THT), nitroglycerine (NG) and cyclonite (RDX). The as-obtained results were compared against analyses results of the natural decomposition products of some explosives with the use of the Fourier-transform IR ...

Pulsed and high-speed FTIR spectroscopy
SPIE Proceedings, 2012Fourier transform interferometry is commonly performed by means of mechanically scanning interferometers such as a Michelson and characterized by one scanning mirror. This results in severe limitations of the capability of measuring fast signals. To overcome this drawback, we present a multi-channel FTIR spectrometer (MC-FTIR) that is capable of ...

FTIR spectroscopy of CVD and natural diamond
15th International Conference on Infrared and Millimeter Waves, 1990Fourier transform spectroscopic transmissivity data in the far-infrared (10 - 350 cm-1) were used to derive a model for the complex refractive index (n - ik) of polycrystalline diamond films grown by microwave plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition. Due to their polycrystalline nature, the diamond films exhibited a surface roughness with crystallite
