Enhancing Bubble Removal in Geometry‐Optimized Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
3D‐printed lattice electrodes outperform stochastic foams in alkaline water electrolysis despite 20%–25% lower surface area. Straight flow channels generate Venturi‐like bubble entrainment, suppressing gas accumulation that renders foam interiors electrochemically inactive.

Numerical study on the size effect on the mixing in 2×1, 3×3 and 5×5 rod bundle subchannels

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology
Mixing Vane Grid (MVG) is considered as one of the most important components in the fuel assembly which not only plays the role of supporting the rod bundles but also improves the Critical Heat Flux (CHF) in the reactor core.

Liquid Phase Transmission Electron Microscopy: A Window into the Early Stages of Complex Material Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid‐phase transmission electron microscopy enables direct observation of nucleation and growth processes in solution. This review is dedicated to the remembrance of Helmut Cölfen and highlights recent studies on complex materials—oxides, biominerals, organic–inorganic crystals—which were central to his research activity. It summarizes key milestones,
