Fuel cell MPPT for fuel consumption optimization
Proceedings of 2010 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2010In this paper a new approach to the minimization of fuel consumption in Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) Fuel Cell (FC) systems is presented. It is mainly based on the minimization of the current produced by the FC by means of an adaptive technique, namely the Perturb and Observe (P&O) approach.

Predicting Tractor Fuel Consumption
2003, Las Vegas, NV July 27-30, 2003, 2003During the past 20 years of tractor testing, improved fuel efficiency from Nebraska Tractor Testing Laboratory (NTTL) reports was shown. A 4.8% decrease of average annual specific volumetric fuel consumption for the data used in the ASAE Standards was estimated.

Fuel Consumption In Forwarders
International Journal of Forest Engineering, 2003Abstract Forwarder fuel consumption was studied by examining a total of 27 forwarders under field conditions. Three datasets, representing different data acquisition methods, were used. In a field study, time and fuel consumption by work-element of two 20–21 tonne forwarders in final felling were recorded.

Fuel Consumption and Consumption Optimization on Conventional Trucks
2021After the cost of the driver, fuel consumption is the most important cost factor in the trucking business. In long-distance haulage, diesel consumption accounts for 30% of the costs calculated over the entire service life of the vehicle. Fig. 1.1 shows the cost breakdown of a European long-distance trucking company.

Minimization of Fuel Consumption for Vehicle Trajectories
IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, 2020Eco-driving, a timely and well-known subject, aims at reducing fuel consumption by appropriately maneuvering a vehicle with a human or automated driver. In this work, the eco-driving problem is cast in an optimal control framework. State equations reflect the simple vehicle kinematics for position and speed, with the acceleration acting as a control ...

The Fuel Consumption of Automobiles
Scientific American, 1975The necessity for fuel consumption is clear. Automobiles, as users of nearly 60% of transportation energy (1/4 of total energy consumption), is a prime target for consumption measures. The author here suggests ways by which auto efficiency can be increased at least 40% by 1980.

Fuel Consumption and Emissions
2012Calculating fuel consumption and emissions is a typical offline analysis step that uses the data previously obtained by simulations or observations. Depending on the aggregation level and level of detail, we distinguish several global, macroscopic, and microscopic approaches. The focus of this chapter is on a microscopic physics-based model with a high

Minimum Fuel Consumption Strategy for PEM Fuel Cells
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2009This paper proposes a proton exchange membrane fuel cell control strategy to produce the power requested by an electrical load, minimizing the fuel consumption and also providing a regulated DC bus voltage to the load. The power system consists of a hybrid fuel cell/capacitor topology, and the control objective is to follow the minimum fuel consumption
