Predicting Ship Fuel Consumption based on LSTM Neural Network
2020 7th International Conference on Information, Cybernetics, and Computational Social Systems (ICCSS), 2020With the rapid development of marine trade and transportation, a large number of ships sail at sea. The ship energy conservation and environment protection are becoming public interested problems. Precise prediction of ship fuel consumption is vital for controlling emissions from ships.

Predicting Traffic lights to Improve Urban Traffic Fuel Consumption
2006 6th International Conference on ITS Telecommunications, 2006Modern traffic control systems include smart feedback into the traffic light control system. New ways of improving our transit systems fuel efficiency are now more than welcome due to global warming and oil high price. This paper presents a new approach on how drivers and traffic lights can interact to save fuel.

A Data-Based Simulator for Predicting Vehicle Fuel Consumption
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1982<div class="htmlview paragraph">A hybrid system, combining on-road testing and statistical modeling, has been developed which permits calculation of a vehicle's fuel consumption over any driving cycle. An instrumentation system permits collection of the necessary on-road and laboratory test data within a relatively short period of time and, once ...

Predicting Tractor Diesel Fuel Consumption
2014General relationships capable of predicting tractor diesel fuel consumption are very useful for budget and management purposes but may not have the ability to compare fuel consumption for several potential engine configurations, such as turbocharging and air densification components.

Analysis of Virtual Sensors for Predicting Aircraft Fuel Consumption
Infotech@Aerospace 2012, 2012to validate and analyze the initial results of this project. We examine the typical error in modeling, and compare modeling accuracy against both navely complex and navely simplistic regression approaches. We also estimate a ranking of the importance of each FOQA variable used as input, and demonstrate that FOQA variables can reliably be used to ...

Ship fuel consumption prediction based on transfer learning: Models and applications
Engineering Applications of Artificial IntelligenceData-driven fuel consumption rate (FCR) prediction models largely depend on the amount of training data, which can be scarce for new ships with limited operating time. To tackle this issue, we implement three transfer learning strategies to leverage knowledge from another seven container ships to construct artificial neural network (ANN)-based FCR ...

Predictive ADAS functionalities to lower fuel consumption
2017This project is a proof of concept consisting of four functionalities, all of which are aimed at lowering DAF’s heavy-duty vehicles fuel consumption. In addition, the truck’s safety level, comfort level & road acceptance had to be maintained throughout the lifetime of the project. The proof of concept relies on the current ACC onboard forward radar.
