Antioxidant properties of myocardial fuels
Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, 2003Oxidative metabolism of blood-borne fuels provides myocardium the energy required to sustain its contractile performance. Recent research has revealed that, in addition to supplying energy, certain fuels are able to detoxify harmful oxidants and bolster the myocardium's endogenous antioxidant defenses.

Fuel Properties of Cottonseed Oil
Energy Sources, 1999The use of vegetable oils as fuel alternatives has an exceptional importance in the field of research. In this study, evaluation possibilities of cottonseed oil have been investigated as an alternative candidate for diesel fuel and fuel oil. The fuel property tests were performed according to standard analysis methods for oil and fuel.

Fuel constituent effects on fuel reforming properties for fuel cell applications
Fuel, 2009Abstract The effect of different types of compounds commonly found in diesel fuel (e.g., paraffins, naphthenes, and aromatics), as well as their chemical structure (e.g., branched versus linear paraffins) on fuel reforming has been investigated. Diesel reforming is very complicated because diesel is a complex mixture of hundreds of compounds with ...

Key Fuel Properties of Biodiesel-diesel Fuel-ethanol Blends
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2009<div class="htmlview paragraph">The diesel biodiesel-diesel oil-bioethanol mixture displays real potential uses as an alternative fuel. The idea stands on the fact that a series of properties of the two biofuels complete each other. Therefore, in this study, biodiesel and bioetanol were blended with commercial diesel fuel at 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and

The low temperature properties of aviation fuels
The Aeronautical Journal, 1982The aviation fuel market is one of the few areas in the petroleum industry where an increase in future demand can be predicted with a reasonable degree of certainty. However, this growth in demand is likely to be influenced by two major constraints, price and availability.

Effects of Fuel Properties on SIDI Fuel Injector Deposit
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2001<div class="htmlview paragraph">The tendency of spark ignition direct injection (SIDI) engines to form injector deposits was investigated using engine dynamometer tests on a SIDI engine equipped with fan spray type injectors. Fifteen test fuels with varying 90% distillation temperature (T90), aromatics, olefins, oxygenates and sulfur levels were ...

Fuel Property Requirements for Multiport Fuel Injector Deposit Cleanliness
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1991<div class="htmlview paragraph">A comprehensive test program has been conducted to determine the effect of fuel properties for injector deposit. Eleven fuel property factors, and the influence of injector temperature and leakage rate were evaluated.</div> <div class="htmlview paragraph">A laboratory accelerated test procedure has been

A jet fuel surrogate formulated by real fuel properties
Combustion and Flame, 2010Abstract An implicit methodology based on chemical group theory to formulate a jet aviation fuel surrogate by the measurements of several combustion related fuel properties is tested. The empirical formula and derived cetane number of an actual aviation fuel, POSF 4658, have been determined.

Physicochemical properties of fuel shales
Coke and Chemistry, 2014Current economic conditions call for innovative products such as coke for the electrode industry, graphite, and fullerenes. To that end, the physicochemical properties of fuel shales must be determined. Attention focuses on shales from the Pribaltiisk Basin (Leningrad field).
