Key results from examinations of seven high burnup pressurized water reactor spent nuclear fuel rods
At present, spent nuclear fuel (SNF) assemblies discharged from US commercial power plants are placed into dry storage following a short cooling time (<10 years) in the plant’s spent fuel pool.

The manuscript confirms and expands on previous reports concerning the presence of unusual conjugated hydroxydienoic fatty acids and acetyl‐TAG in the seed oil of Securidaca longipedunculata. The location of acetate only at sn‐2 of TAG was conclusively shown by high resolution NMR and hydroxy seed fatty acids are characterized.

Prediction of the nuclear fuel rod abrasion
The paper is focused on calculation of the friction forces work in the contact of nuclear fuel rods with fuel assembly spacer grid cells. This friction work is deciding factor for the prediction of the fuel rod coating abrasion. The fuel rod abrasion is caused by fuel assembly vibrations excited by pressure pulsations of the cooling liquid generated by

A nanomotor featuring an “electronic lock” via electron compensation in an Au‐Ag alloy ensures therapeutic precision. Near‐infrared light acts as a key, unlocking on‐demand Ag+ release for synergistic bactericidal action and microenvironment remodeling to potently treat bacterial pneumonia. Abstract Bacterial pneumonia treatment is severely hampered by

Carrion ecology: concepts, interdisciplinary synthesis, and perspectives
ABSTRACT Carrion is a ubiquitous resource in both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, yet it has long been overlooked in ecological research. Over the past two decades, studies on carrion and the many organisms that exploit it have flourished, revealing not only wide‐ranging ecological functions but also significance far beyond ecology.

Porous Carbon Materials for Carbon Dioxide Capture
This work aims to address the current status and challenges associated with the regulation of pore structures, as well as the influence of pore structures on CO2 capture. Systematic quantitative analysis of structure–property relationships, combined with machine learning approaches, can effectively evaluate the contributions of structural ...

Heterostructured interfaces can accelerate hydrogen evolution by improving water dissociation, yet their underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study combines in situ Raman spectroscopy and density functional theory to reveal how the RuO2/TiO2 interface promotes both water dissociation and hydrogen adsorption, providing new insights into the ...

Flow-induced vibration of fuel rods.
A study on flow-induced vibration of fuel rods in a reactor was first reported by Bergreen in 1958. Since then theoretical and experimental researches have been made by many investigators. This is a review of the studies on vibration of the fuel rod excited by axial flow.
