On the Usability of Pt/Al2O3 Catalysts for Exhaust Gas After Treatment in Ammonia Combustion Engines

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, Volume 98, Issue 1-2, Page 27-36, February 2026.
Ammonia engines emit no CO2 but exhibit elevated emissions of NH3 and NOx, where conventional SCR systems are not effective due to the significant excess of NH3. This study investigates Pt‐based oxidation catalysts in a bypass configuration to adjust the NH3/NOx ratio, analyzing catalyst parameters and their impact on N2O formation to identify optimal ...

Experimental methods in chemical engineering: Electrospinning

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 104, Issue 2, Page 556-568, February 2026.
Abstract Electrospinning produces micro‐ and nanofibres by forcing a polymeric solution through a fine needle in an electric field that produces a filament that accumulates onto a collector plate. The fibre morphology depends on solution properties, distance between needle and plate, feed rate, and electric field intensity.

Multivariate Optimization of Easily Prepared Indium Substrates for Mild‐Acid Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 2, February 2026.
Scalable In‐containing substrates (In‐treated), prepared via galvanic displacement from Zn paste electrodes (Zn‐powder), enhance Zn electrodeposition efficiency in Aqueous Rechargeable Zinc‐Ion Batteries (ARZIBs) even at low In content. A multivariate design of experiment (DOE) identifies key factors and synergies controlling Zn deposition.

Depolymerisation of γ‐Valerolactone Organosolv Lignins with Unsupported Molybdenum‐Based Catalysts

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 3, February 2026.
Lignins from γ‐valerolactone organosolv fractionation were depolymerised in ethanol using unsupported molybdenum catalysts. Over 90% yields of low‐molecular‐weight lignin oil were obtained with minimal char formation, yields of the aromatic monomers being 7–16 wt%.
