Futures trading and fuel adjustment clauses
Journal of Regulatory Economics, 1996Despite many criticisms and potential problems, wide-spread and, in many cases, long-standing use of fuel adjustment clauses (FACs) continues. This paper proposes replacing use of the FAC mechanism with permission to allow the utility to hedge its fuel price risk(s) in the futures markets.

Multidimensional cryptocurrencies fuel next-generation trade
2022We introduce multidimensional currencies that can underpin next-generation governance capabilities for complex marketplaces and commercial ecosystems. The addition of non-monetary parameters in an nD currency system can help regulate the use of the currency itself, as well as give rise to novel properties that could influence the policy and evolution ...

Fuel/Engine/Airframe Trade-Off Study.
1980Abstract : This report covers a study of the effects of broadening the specifications for JP-4 and JP-8, by increasing the freeze point, decreasing the smoke point, and extending the end point on minimizing costs and maximizing fuel availability. The study considered the impact on the engines and airframes.

Perspectives on fuel ethanol consumption and trade
Biomass and Bioenergy, 2008Abstract Since the year 2000 or so there has been a rapid growth on fuel ethanol production and consumption, particularly in US and Brazil. Ethanol trade represented about 10% of world consumption in 2005, Brazil being the main exporter. The most important consumer markets—US and European Union (EU)—have trade regimes that constrained the comparative

The majority of existing energy management strategies (EMSs), merely considering external driving conditions, often allocate demand power in an irrational way, resulting in a waste of energy and a short service life of power sources.

Comparing Potential Fuel Treatment Trade-Off Models
2003Understanding the trade-offs between short-term and long-term consequences of fire impacts on ecosystems is needed before a comprehensive fuels management program can be implemented nationally. We are evaluating 3 potential trade-off models at 8 locations in major U.S. fuel types.
