Full scale lightning generation techniques for aircraft susceptibility evaluations
IECEC-97 Proceedings of the Thirty-Second Intersociety Energy Conversion Engineering Conference (Cat. No.97CH6203), 2002There are numerous laboratory tests that simulate aircraft/lightning interactions to assess aircraft survivability and vulnerability. One such test uses a high voltage capacitor bank to generate a high current pulse that is applied to an actual aircraft or a geometrically similar structure.

A new full scale aircraft antenna test facility
Ninth International Conference on Antennas and Propagation (ICAP), 1995A modern outdoor test facility has been designed for comprehensive evaluation of antenna systems on full scale aircraft. The aircraft are mounted to a positioner/tower assembly in an underground handling facility, and are raised to a height of 25 meters by a hydraulically activated lift.

Nonlinear Normal Modes of a Full-Scale Aircraft
The objective of this paper is to demonstrate that the numerical computation of the nonlinear normal modes (NNMs) of complex real-world structures is now within reach. The application considered in this study is the airframe of the Morane-Saulnier Paris aircraft, whose ground vibration tests have exhibited some nonlinear structural behaviors.M. Peeters +4 more

Vibro-Acoustic Research on a Full-Scale Aircraft Structure
The new transport aircraft A400M is designed for worldwide military and humanitarian missions. It is a turbo-propeller aircraft able to fly high, fast and over long distances and to take off and land on short rough runways. Regarding interior noise and vibration harshness, the A400M meets the state-of-the-art requirements.C. Koehne, D. Sachau, M. Schaedlich

An Inexpensive, Full-Scale Aircraft Fatigue Test System
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1973<div class="htmlview paragraph">The investigation of an inexpensive, full-scale, two-channel fatigue test apparatus for light airplanes is described. The rationale and assumptions made that aided in the development are detailed, and the total system and operating costs are presented.

Full-scale aircraft impact test for evaluation of impact force
Nuclear Engineering and Design, 1993Abstract Previously, estimates of the force caused by aircraft impact into rigid structures have been determined using theoretical methods based on the aircraft's calculated mass and strength distribution. However, these methods required many assumptions to be made and they left many questions unanswered.

Overview of a full-scale aircraft intersystem EMC test facility
1993 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2002An enhanced test facility for high-power, radiated susceptibility testing of aircraft has been developed. The facility consists of the Electromagnetic Environment Generating System (EMEGS) and four test areas. The EMEGS was specifically designed for full-scale aircraft radiated susceptibility testing and is the first high-power system to be fully ...

Nonlinear Normal Modes of Real-World Structures: Application to a Full-Scale Aircraft
Volume 1: 23rd Biennial Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise, Parts A and B, 2011The objective of this paper is to demonstrate that the numerical computation of the nonlinear normal modes (NNMs) of complex real-world structures is now within reach. The application considered in this study is the airframe of the Morane-Saulnier Paris aircraft, whose ground vibration tests have exhibited some nonlinear structural behaviors.
