The effect of chemical inhomogeneity on the microstructure and properties of nanobainitic steel is investigated. A two‐stage isothermal heat treatment that produced a more uniform microstructure is designed. The first‐stage temperature is higher than the MS of depleted bands; conversely, the second‐stage temperature is lower than the first‐stage ...

Heat treatments that alter the proportions of austenite and ferrite phases or induce the precipitation of phases such as sigma in duplex stainless steel UNS S32205 make it more susceptible to pitting and crevice corrosion. However, the effects of these treatments are not always evident when analyzed using the cyclic polarization technique.

Laser welding of duplex stainless steel disrupts phase balance, promotes nitride precipitation, and reduces fatigue resistance. Postweld heat treatment restores austenite and dissolves nitrides, but the resulting crystallography and phase morphology still impair fatigue performance.

A double intercritical annealing strategy is proposed to tailor the multiphase microstructure and mechanical response of a medium‐Mn steel. The treatment produces an ultrafine mixture of ferrite, martensite and multiple austenite populations with graded thermal and mechanical stability, formed through austenite reversion and controlled retransformation.

Elemental redistribution during coprecipitation of kappa (κ)‐type and B2 precipitates in an Al‐alloyed lightweight steel is revealed by atom probe tomography (APT) and density functional theory (DFT). Fe and Ni redistribution promotes the evolution of B2 phase from NiAl‐type toward FeAl‐type and improves the stability of κ and B2 phases during ...

An accurate moving boundary model for volume diffusion containing boundary conditions from trans‐interface diffusion (TID) simulates the austenite growth during cooling. TID of Cr, Mo, N and Ni enhance growth kinetics. Without TID, compositions of the interface region change, decreasing the driving force for growth and finally causing numerical ...

Niobium cathodic cage duplex treatment is applied to VP20TS steel to evaluate the influence of surface roughness and temperature on coating performance. Results show that higher temperatures promote thicker nitride layers and increased microhardness, while finer surface preparation enhances adhesion and wear resistance, revealing optimal conditions for

This paper presents the design and implementation of the first in-band full duplex WiFi radios that can simultaneously transmit and receive on the same channel using standard WiFi 802.11ac PHYs and achieves close to the theoretical doubling of throughput in all practical deployment scenarios. Our design uses a single antenna for simultaneous TX/RX (i.e.

Full duplex wireless has drawn significant interest in the recent past due to the potential for doubling network capacity in the physical layer and offering numerous other benefits at higher layers. However, the implementation of integrated full duplex radios is fraught with several fundamental challenges.

X-Duplex: Adapting of Full-Duplex and Half-Duplex
2015 IEEE Conference on Computer Communications Workshops (INFOCOM WKSHPS), 2015A novel hybrid model selection method between Half-Duplex (HD) and Full-Duplex (FD), is proposed in this paper. The aim of X-Duplex is to maximize the instantaneous system capacity. The system can be configured as either HD or FD mode, by adaptively configuring the antenna as either transmit or receive antenna.
