This work presents ARC‐3D, a soft 3D model that recreates how brain support cells, called astrocytes, react to oxidative stress. The system visualizes rapid calcium changes and inflammatory signals, and shows how the drug KDS12025 can protect cells from damage. ARC‐3D offers a simple, reliable way to study early drivers of brain inflammation.

Revisiting Yeats’s "A Full Moon in March"
A recent restaging in London of John Harbison’s opera based on Yeats’s late dance play raises serious questions about a fitting style of staging and performance and an appropriate directorial approach to what is a quite unique and challenging drama.

The Promise of Solid Lubricants for a Sustainable Future
Lubricants are vital for technology, saving energy and resources. The industry seeks sustainable solutions beyond fossil fuels. Solid lubricants offer extremely low friction and reduce environmental impact, especially in harsh conditions. Can these solids truly replace liquid lubricants, or are they limited to extreme applications?

Impacts of “supermoon” events on the physiology of a wild bird
The position of the Moon in relation to the Earth and the Sun gives rise to several predictable cycles, and natural changes in nighttime light intensity are known to cause alterations to physiological processes and behaviors in many animals.

Quantum effects on Lagrangian points and displaced periodic orbits in the Earth-Moon system [PDF]
Recent work in the literature has shown that the one-loop long distance quantum corrections to the Newtonian potential imply tiny but observable effects in the restricted three-body problem of celestial mechanics, i.e., at the Lagrangian libration points

Detecting proteins secreted by a single cell while retaining its viability remains challenging. A particles‐in‐particle (PiPs) system made by co‐encapsulating barcoded microparticles (BMPs) with a single cell inside an alginate hydrogel particle is introduced.

We previously showed that the agamid lizard Pogona vitticeps responded to an extremely low-frequency electromagnetic field (ELF-EMF; frequency: 6 and 8 Hz; peak magnetic field: 2.6 µT; peak electric field: 10 V/m) with tail-lifting behavior.

Proposed Method for Tracking Moon Phases using the Co-Occurrence Matrix [PDF]
The study Proposes a method to detect the appearance of moon phase in a video serial (AVI) . The proposed algorithm of photographic and videoing treatment presents a method to trace the appearance of moon phases through the analysis of image texture ...
