Full-Scale Fairing Qualification Tests
Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering, 2015Production risers as well as drilling risers are often exposed to ocean currents. Vortex-induced vibrations (VIVs) have been observed in the field and can cause fatigue failure and excessive drag on the riser. In order to suppress VIV, fairings are often used.

Fatigue Test on a Full Scale Panel
Key Engineering Materials, 2006Fatigue test on a full scale panel with complex loading and geometry has been carried out by using a tri-axial test machine located in the laboratory of the University of Naples. The aeronautical test panel was designed and manufactured by Alenia. The demonstrator is made up of two parts which are linked by a transversal joint that is parallel to the ...

Large-scale full-wave simulation
Proceedings of the 41st annual Design Automation Conference, 2004We describe a new extraction tool, EMX (Electro-Magnetic eXtractor), for the analysis of RF, analog and high-speed digital circuits. EMX is a fast full-wave field solver. It incorporates two new techniques which make it significantly faster and more memory-efficient than previous solvers.

Prognostic value of the full‐scale Periapical Index
International Endodontic Journal, 2014AbstractAimTo evaluate whether the full‐scale Periapical Index (PAI) can predict the periapical status over time in nonroot filled and root filled teeth.MethodologyFull‐mouth radiographic surveys of a random sample from a general population were performed in 1997, 2003 and 2008.

Acta Radiologica, 1996
Purpose: Increasing percentages of digital modalities in radiology, in particular of digital image acquisition in conventional radiography, call for digital reporting, communication, and archiving techniques. These techniques are prerequisites for the “filmless” hospital.

Identification of Pacejka’s scaling factors from full-scale experimental tests
Vehicle System Dynamics, 2005A set of scaling factors has been introduced by Pacejka into his ‘magic formula’ tyre model to take into account the influence of a number of external overall parameters such as road roughness, weather conditions and suspension characteristics. These scaling factors are important for a correct prediction of tyre–road contact forces but are not a ...

Rockfall Full Scale Field Tests
2013The phenomenon of rockfall along slopes is an environmental risk that frequently occurs in mountainous regions. In this phenomenon are directly involved infrastructures (railways, ordinary roads or highway) but also residential areas as well as individual structures are also interested in prevention and defense.
