The Full Waveform LiDAR system has been developed and used commercially all over the world. It acts to record the complete time of a laser pulse and has a high-resolution sampling interval compared to the traditional multiple-echo LiDAR, which only ...

Full waveform inversion using triangular waveform adapted meshes
In this article, continuous Galerkin finite elements are applied to perform full waveform inversion (FWI) for seismic velocity model building. A time-domain FWI approach is detailed that uses meshes composed of variably sized triangular elements to discretize the domain.

FULL WAVEFORM ACTIVE HYPERSPECTRAL LIDAR [PDF]
We have developed a prototype full waveform hyperspectral LiDAR and investigated its potential for remote sensing applications. Traditionally hyperspectral remote sensing is based on passive measurement of sunlit targets.

Multiscale full waveform inversion [PDF]
We develop and apply a full waveform inversion method that incorporates seismic data on a wide range of spatio-temporal scales, thereby constraining the details of both crustal and uppermantle structure. This is intended to further our understanding of crust-mantle interactions that shape the nature of plate tectonics, and to be a step towards improved

Randomized Source Sketching for Full Waveform Inversion [PDF]
Partial differential equation (PDE) constrained optimization problems such as seismic full waveform inversion (FWI) frequently arise in the geoscience and related fields. For such problems, many observations are usually gathered by multiple sources, which form the right-hand-sides of the PDE constraint.

DECOMPOSITION TECHNIQUES FOR ICESAT/GLAS FULL-WAVEFORM DATA [PDF]
The geoscience laser altimeter system (GLAS) on the board Ice, Cloud, and land Elevation Satellite (ICESat), is the first long-duration space borne full-waveform LiDAR for measuring the topography of the ice shelf and temporal variation, cloud and ...

USING FULL WAVEFORM DATA IN URBAN AREAS [PDF]
In this paper, the use of waveform data in urban areas is studied. Full waveform is generally used in non-urban areas, where it can provide better vertical structure description of vegetation compared to discrete return systems.

VOXEL BASED REPRESENTATION OF FULL-WAVEFORM AIRBORNE LASER SCANNER DATA FOR FORESTRY APPLICATIONS [PDF]
The advantages of using airborne full-waveform laser scanner data in forest applications, e.g. for the description of the vertical vegetation structure or accurate biomass estimation, have been emphasized in many publications.
