Fullerene graphs have exponentially many perfect matchings

open access: yes, 2009
A fullerene graph is a planar cubic 3-connected graph with only pentagonal and hexagonal faces.

Novel preparation method of fullerene and its ability to detect H2S and NO2 gases

open access: yesResults in Chemistry, 2023
In this study, a new system for fullerene preparation was designed based on the incomplete combustion of liquid asphalt. Transmission electron microscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) techniques were used ...

Tailoring the Properties of Functional Materials With N‐Oxides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The properties of materials bearing N‐oxide groups are often dominated by the polar N+─O− bond. It provides hydrophilicity, selective ion‐binding, electric conductivity, or antifouling properties. Many of the underlying mechanisms have only recently been discovered, and the interest in N‐oxide materials is rapidly growing.

Diffuse interstellar bands in fullerene planetary nebulae: the fullerenes - diffuse interstellar bands connection

open access: yes, 2013
We present high-resolution (R~15000) VLT/UVES optical spectra of two planetary nebulae (PNe; Tc 1 and M 1-20) where C60 (and C70) fullerenes have already been found.

Solid state physicochemical properties and applications of organic and metallo-organic fullerene derivatives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We review the fundamental properties and main applications of organic derivatives and complexes of fullerenes in the solid-state form. We address in particular the structural properties, in terms of crystal structure, polymorphism, orientational ...

Reducing Open‐Circuit Voltage Losses in Wide‐Bandgap FAPbBr3 Perovskite Solar Cells for Continuous Unassisted Light‐Driven Water Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The combination of formamidinium thiocyanate and 1,3‐propane diammonium iodide for bulk and top‐surface passivation, and a ternary fullerene blend to improve energy band alignment, suppresses energy losses in wide‐bandgap FAPbBr3 perovskite solar cells.

Polyradical character and spin frustration in fullerene molecules: An ab initio non-collinear Hartree--Fock study

open access: yes, 2014
Most {\em ab initio} calculations on fullerene molecules have been carried out based on the paradigm of the H\"uckel model. This is consistent with the restricted nature of the independent-particle model underlying such calculations, even in single ...

On the Excitation and Formation of Circumstellar Fullerenes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We compare and analyze the Spitzer mid-infrared spectrum of three fullerene-rich planetary nebulae in the Milky Way and the Magellanic Clouds; Tc1, SMP SMC16, and SMP LMC56. The three planetary nebulae share many spectroscopic similarities. The strongest

Unveiling Aggregation‐Induced Singlet Fission in Push–Pull Diketopyrrolopyrrole Water Dispersed Nanoaggregates and Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Aggregates of diketopyrrolopyrrole dipolar and quadrupolar systems exhibit panchromatic absorption spectra extending in the entire visible range. Upon aggregation in water and in the solid state, their fluorescence is almost completely quenched and their singlet excited state lifetime is significantly shortened.
