Estimating Procedure for Function Point Analysis in Korea

2018 19th IEEE/ACIS International Conference on Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Networking and Parallel/Distributed Computing (SNPD), 2018
This paper introduces the practical guidelines for function point analysis in the Republic of Korea. Function Point Analysis is adopted as a standard method for measuring the functional size of software by Korean government. It was proposed by an international organization.

Function point analysis: difficulties and improvements

IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, 1988
The method of function point analysis was developed by A. J. Albrecht (1979) to help measure the size of a computerized business information system. Such sizes are needed as a component of the measurement of productivity in system development and maintenance activities, and as a component of estimating the effort needed for such activities.

Function Point Tree-Based Function Point Analysis: Improving Reproducibility Whilst Maintaining Accuracy in Function Point Counting

2020
We propose a method to improve reproducibility whilst keeping accuracy for the Function Point Analysis (FPA) method. The proposed method is based on a new artifact model called Function Point Tree (FPT). FPT enables a standardized and systematic collection of all data required for FP counting.

Modelling the probabilistic behaviour of function point analysis

Information and Software Technology, 1998
Abstract Function point analysis is one of the most popular methods for estimating software size and, sometimes, development effort. However, accuracy for the result of estimation by using this method has not been ascertained significantly. Depending on human professional subjective judgement is one major reason that causes this problem.

An Approach to Adjust Effort Estimation of Function Point Analysis

2021
This study presents a modified approach to adjust a software development effort estimation. The AdamOptimizer-based regression model is adopted to adjust and enhance the accuracy of effort estimation. This approach is derived into three phases. The first step deals with the logarithmized formula of effort estimation computed by Function Point Analysis ...

Mapping the OO-Jacobson approach into function point analysis

Proceedings of TOOLS USA 97. International Conference on Technology of Object Oriented Systems and Languages, 1997
Function point analysis measures user requested functionality independent of the technology used for implementation. Software applications are represented in an abstract model that contains the items that contribute to the functional size. When function point analysis is applied to object-oriented software, the concepts of the development method have ...

Functional Principal Points and Functional Cluster Analysis

2008
In this chapter, we deal with functional principal points and functional cluster analysis. The k principal points [4] are defined as the set of k points which minimizes the sum of expected squared distances from every points in the distribution to the nearest points of the set, and are mathematically equivalent to centers of gravity by k-means ...

An empirical analysis of function point adjustment factors

Information and Software Technology, 2000
Abstract In function point analysis, fourteen “general systems characteristics” (GSCs) are used to construct a “value adjustment factor” (VAF), with which a basic function point count is adjusted. Although the GSCs and VAF have been criticized on both theoretical and practical grounds, they are used by many practitioners.

Performance of function point analysis through UML modeling

ACM SIGSOFT Software Engineering Notes, 2009
In software development, estimation of software size is one of the major activities. Various types of metrics are available for computation of software size. It is necessary to check the performance of each metric. Lines of code, objects and function point analysis are widely used for measurements of software size, cost and schedule of development. The

Boundary Analysis for the Derivative of Driving Point Impedance Functions

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2018
Four theorems are presented in this brief by performing boundary analysis of the derivative of driving point impedance functions evaluated at the origin. Also, the circuits corresponding to these driving point impedance functions, which are obtained as the natural results of presented theorems, are given.
