CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Oscillation criteria for functional differential equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2005
Consider the first-order linear delay differential equation $$ x'(t)+p(t)x(au (t))=0,quad tgeq t_{0}, $$ and the second-order linear delay equation $$ x''(t)+p(t)x(au (t))=0,quad tgeq t_{0}, $$ where $p$ and $au $ are continuous functions on $[t_{0 ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Multiple solutions of nonlinear partial functional differential equations and systems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2019
We shall consider weak solutions of initial-boundary value problems for semilinear and nonlinear parabolic differential equations with certain nonlocal terms, further, systems of elliptic functional differential equations.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Razumikhin-type theorem on time-changed stochastic functional differential equations with Markovian switching

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2019
This work is mainly concerned with the exponential stability of time-changed stochastic functional differential equations with Markovian switching. By expanding the time-changed Itô formula and the Razumikhin theorem, we obtain the exponential stability ...

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Mixed-Type Functional Differential Equations: A $C_{0}$-Semigroup Approach

open access: yesCommunications in Advanced Mathematical Sciences, 2018
In this paper we study certain systems of mixed-type functional differential equations, from the point of view of the $C_{0}$-semigroup theory. In general, this type of equations are not well-posed as initial value problems.
