Existence of Incompressible Vortex-Class Phenomena and Variational Formulation of Raleigh–Plesset Cavitation Dynamics

open access: yesApplied Mechanics, 2021
The following article extends a decomposition to the Navier–Stokes Equations (NSEs) demonstrated in earlier studies by corresponding author, in order to now demonstrate the existence of a vortex elliptical set inherent to the NSEs.

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

Representational Structures as Stances: Examining Relationships to the City Under the Lens of Socio-Spatial Representations

open access: yesInternational Review of Social Psychology, 2018
This paper puts spatial cognition to the test of the social representations paradigm, drawing on insights from the positional and structural approaches of representation, to complement existing findings on social groups pre-constructed on the basis of an

A Validated Ultrasound-Assisted Extraction Coupled with SPE-HPLC-DAD for the Determination of Flavonoids in By-Products of Plant Origin: An Application Study for the Valorization of the Walnut Septum Membrane

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
Walnut byproducts have been shown to exert functional properties, but the literature on their bioactive content is still scarce. Among walnut byproducts, walnut septum is a dry ligneous diaphragm tissue that divides the two halves of the kernel ...

Improved Outcomes for Older Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults With Neuroblastoma in the Post‐Immunotherapy Era: An Updated Report From the International Neuroblastoma Risk Group

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background We describe clinical and biologic characteristics of neuroblastoma in older children, adolescents, and young adults (OCAYA); describe survival outcomes in the post‐immunotherapy era; and identify if there is an age cut‐off that best discriminates outcomes.

Functional Bandits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We introduce the functional bandit problem, where the objective is to find an arm that optimises a known functional of the unknown arm-reward distributions.

Patient‐Level Barriers and Facilitators to Inpatient Physical Therapy in Adolescents and Young Adults With a Hematological Malignancy: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite their increased risk for functional impairment resulting from cancer and its treatments, few adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with a hematological malignancy receive the recommended or therapeutic dose of exercise per week during inpatient hospitalizations.

Functional Biodiversity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Modern conventional agriculture is characterized by monocultures. These are less productive in terms of biomass than natural plant communities, which are usually complex mixtures of species and varieties, and they also require more inputs.

Coulomb's Function [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1938
In his work on Rayleigh waves Coulomb (1) has studied the function ...[Eq. (1.1)]. The function ψ0 with a complex value of h occurs in the work of Buchholz (2) on the propagation of alternating currents in the earth between two electrodes connected above ground by a rectangular loop of wire whose vertical ends support the horizontal piece.
