Sensitivity function: Properties and applications
Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Physics, 2011Summary: The sensitivity function induced by a convex programming problem is examined. Its monotonicity, subdifferentiability, and closure properties are analyzed. A relation to the Pareto optimal solution set of the multicriteria convex optimization problem is established.

Pseudo-Bessel Functions and Applications
gmj, 2002Abstract We employ the decomposition theorem with respect to the cyclic group of order đ to introduce families of pseudo-Bessel functions and to study their properties. We also discuss in brief their applications in probability theory and in electromagnetism.

Applications of Wilsonâs functional equation
Aequationes mathematicae, 2004Let \(G\) be an abelian group divisible by 2 and \(F\) an algebraically closed commutative field of characteristic zero. The author offers a method for finding the general solutions \(f, g_j, h_j : G\to F\; (j=1,\dots,n)\) of the functional equation \(f(x+y)-f(x-y)=\sum^n_{j=1}g_j(x)h_j(y)\;(x,y\in G)\) in the cases \(n=1\) [done before by the author ...

Functionalization and Application of Calixarenes
1995Selectively functionalized calix[4]arenes are used to build effective receptors for cations, anions and neutral molecules or for a combination of a cation and an anion. This was done by combination with a terphenyl unit (cation receptor), a uranyl-containing salen moiety (for anionic and neutral guests) or by introduction of sulfonamide groups (anion ...

Greenâs Functions: Applications
2004The free-space Greenâs function is used to evaluate electromagnetic wave scattering and radiation from currents in free space. This section investigates two examples using the free-space Greenâs function, namely, radiation from a sheet current and radiation from a shell current.

Lactoferrin: structure, function and applications
International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents, 2009Lactoferrin (LF) is an 80 kDa iron-binding glycoprotein of the transferrin family that is expressed in most biological fluids and is a major component of the mammalian innate immune system. Its protective effects range from direct antimicrobial activities against a large panel of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites, to anti-

Carbosilane Dendrimers â Synthesis, Functionalization, Application
Monatshefte fĂŒr Chemie / Chemical Monthly, 1999This micro-review summarizes historical and recent developments in synthesis, functionalization, and characterization of carbosilane dendrimers. These compounds are the most important among the heteroatom-based dendrimers at present due to the flexibility of the synthetic route and to their chemical stability which allows versatile further ...

Function Plotting Applications
2006Function/graph plotting/graphing is often required as the invaluable part of the scientific research in order to present and/or track the observed phenomenaâ s and/or subjectâ s changes, movements and/or trends. This method is widely used in Economics as well as in all other sciences.
