Predicting functional sites in biological sequences using canonical correlation analysis

2009 IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedicine Workshop, 2009
Protein functional site prediction plays a key role in understanding protein function and in protein engineering. In this work we developed a novel method using canonical correlation analysis to predict protein ligand binding sites. The method was tested with a well-known benchmark dataset and consistently outperformed the existing method Xdet, which ...

Study of Canonical Correlation Analysis Algorithm Based on Kernel Function

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
With the rapid development of computer technology and software technology, the application of linear canonical correlation analysis is more and more widely. But in practical applications, variables are often potential nonlinear relations. Therefore, it is necessary to study the nonlinear canonical correlation analysis algorithm, reveal the nonlinear ...

Restricted canonical correlation analysis in functional MRI—validation and a novel thresholding technique

Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 2008
AbstractPurposeTo validate the performance of an analysis method for fMRI data based on restricted canonical correlation analysis (rCCA) and adaptive filtering, and to increase the usability of the method by introducing a new technique for significance estimation of rCCA maps.Materials and MethodsActivation data from a language task and also a resting ...

Creativity and Brain-Functioning in Product Development Engineers: A Canonical Correlation Analysis

Creativity Research Journal, 2014
This study used canonical correlation analysis to explore the relation among scores on the Torrance test of figural and verbal creativity and demographic, psychological and physiological measures in Swedish product-development engineers. The first canonical variate included figural and verbal flexibility and originality as dependent measures and (a ...

Likelihood Function and Canonical Correlation Analysis of the Peña–Box Model

Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2011
The Pena–Box model is a type of dynamic factor model whose factors try to capture the time-effect movements of a multiple time series. The Pena–Box model can be expressed as a vector autoregressive (VAR) model with constraints. This article derives the maximum likelihood estimates and the likelihood ratio test of the VAR model for Gaussian processes ...

Getting full control of canonical correlation analysis with the AutoBiplot.CCA function

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2016
Function AutoBiplot.CCA was built in R language. Given two multivariate data sets, this function carries out a conventional canonical correlation analysis, followed by the automatic production of predictive biplots based on the accuracy of readings as assessed by a mean standard predictive error and a user defined tolerance value.
