Wood‐Derived Nanocellulose‐Biocarbon Fresnel‐Zone Plate Lenses for Sub‐THz Frequency Applications
Wood‐derived nanocellulose and lignin‐based biocarbon were combined to fabricate fully bio‐based Fresnel zone plate (FZP) lenses for sub‐terahertz frequencies. These sustainable FZP lenses exhibit low dielectric loss and high directivity, achieving performance comparable to that of metallic references, and remain functional under environmental stress ...

Lead‐Free Chiral Hybrid Metal Halides for Circularly Polarized Light‐Emitting Diodes
Lead‐free chiral hybrid metal halides provide a versatile platform for realizing chiroptical responses through chiral modulation of metal–halide frameworks with diverse dimensionalities, induces inversion‐symmetry breaking and enables dissymmetric excited‐state transitions toward efficient circularly polarized luminescence and electroluminescence. This

Collision‐Resilient Winged Drones Enabled by Tensegrity Structures
Based on structures of birds such as the woodpeck, this article presents the collision‐resilient aerial robot, SWIFT. SWIFT leverages tensegrity structures in the fuselage and wings which allow it to undergo large deformations in a crash, without sustaining damage. Experiments show that SWIFT can reduce impact forces by 70% over conventional structures.

The Future of Research in Cognitive Robotics: Foundation Models or Developmental Cognitive Models?
Research in cognitive robotics founded on principles of developmental psychology and enactive cognitive science would yield what we seek in autonomous robots: the ability to perceive its environment, learn from experience, anticipate the outcome of events, act to pursue goals, and adapt to changing circumstances without resorting to training with ...

Abnormal functional connectivity density in Parkinson's disease
Behavioural Brain Research, 2015The pathology of Parkinson's disease (PD) is not confined to the nigrostriatal pathway, but also involves widespread cerebral cortical areas. Using seed-based resting state functional connectivity, many previous studies have demonstrated that PD patients have abnormal functional integration. However, this technique strongly relies on a priori selection

Disrupted functional connectivity density in irritable bowel syndrome patients
Brain Imaging and Behavior, 2016Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common functional gastrointestinal disorder resulting from a dysregulation of the brain-gut axis. However, its exact neural substrate still remains unclear. This study investigated the changes of intrinsic whole brain functional connectivity pattern in IBS using functional connectivity density (FCD).

Functional connectivity density mapping: comparing multiband and conventional EPI protocols
Brain Imaging and Behavior, 2017Functional connectivity density mapping (FCDM) is a newly developed data-driven technique that quantifies the number of local and global functional connections for each voxel in the brain. In this study, we evaluated reproducibility, sensitivity, and specificity of both local functional connectivity density (lFCD) and global functional connectivity ...
