Divergent functional traits in three sympatric Arctic charr Salvelinus alpinus morphs are not coupled with the age of the lineage divergence [PDF]
Three genetically discrete morphs of Arctic charr in Loch Rannoch, Scotland originated from a recent divergence within the lake (in situ) (piscivore and benthivore morphs) and from secondary contact of two older lineages (ex situ; a planktivore–piscivore/

Stacked nanoflake assembly (SNA) membranes can oscillate autonomously, offering opportunities for soft actuation and energy harvesting. This work uncovers the physical mechanism behind the sustained oscillation of SNA membranes in gradient humidity and identifies three governing dimensionless parameters, enabling rational design for optimizing SNA ...

Evaluation of buffer-radius modelling approaches used in forest conservation and planning [PDF]
Spatial modelling approaches are increasingly being used to direct forest management and conservation planning at the landscape scale. A popular approach is the use of buffer-radius methods, which create buffers around distinct forest habitat patches to ...

Nanomaterial Integration at Liquid–Liquid Interfaces for Green Catalysis
Functional nanomaterials assembled at liquid–liquid interfaces create dual‐role platforms serving as emulsion stabilizers and catalytic sites, offering enhanced reaction kinetics with improved catalyst recovery and recyclability. This review examines design strategies, structure‐performance relationships, and industrial implementation prospects of ...

Linking Aboveground Traits to Root Traits and Local Environment: Implications of the Plant Economics Spectrum. [PDF]
The plant economics spectrum proposes that ecological traits are functionally coordinated and adapt along environmental gradients. However, empirical evidence is mixed about whether aboveground and root traits are consistently linked and which ...

Ecological function of phenazine in soil
Phenazines, antimicrobial secondary metabolites, inhibit Gram-positive bacteria by targeting topoisomerase IV, but Bacillus cohabiting with phenazine-producing Pseudomonas can evolve resistance, enabling synergism for agricultural biocontrol.

Closed‐loop Recycling of Sulfide Solid Electrolytes from Spent Solid‐State Sodium Batteries
Closed‐loop recycling of sulfide solid electrolyte via a mild dissolution–recrystallization–thermal treatment process enables efficient recovery from spent all‐solid‐state sodium batteries. The regenerated material preserves the crystal structure, local coordination, and chemical states, maintaining high ionic conductivity, reduced interfacial ...

This study presents the rational design and synthesis of a highly luminescent polymeric nanocomposite. Initially, highly fluorescent carbon quantum dots (CQDs) are synthesized via a facile hydrothermal method using citric acid and β‐alanine as precursors, followed by rigorous purification through centrifugation and filtration.
