I am Robot: Neuromuscular Reinforcement Learning to Actuate Human Limbs through Functional Electrical Stimulation [PDF]
Human movement disorders or paralysis lead to the loss of control of muscle activation and thus motor control. Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) is an established and safe technique for contracting muscles by stimulating the skin above a muscle to induce its contraction.

Entrainment of a network of interacting neurons with minimum stimulating charge [PDF]
Periodic pulse train stimulation is generically used to study the function of the nervous system and to counteract disease-related neuronal activity, e.g., collective periodic neuronal oscillations. The efficient control of neuronal dynamics without compromising brain tissue is key to research and clinical purposes.

The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

Clinical applications of electrical stimulation for peripheral nerve injury: A systematic review [PDF]
INTRODUCTION: Peripheral nerve injuries are common neurologic injuries that are challenging to treat with current therapies. Electrical stimulation has been shown to accelerate reinnervation and enhance functional recovery.

The impact of frailty syndrome on skeletal muscle histology: preventive effects of exercise
Frailty syndrome exacerbates skeletal muscle degeneration via increased ECM deposition and myofiber loss. This study, using a murine model, demonstrates that endurance exercise attenuates these histopathological alterations, preserving muscle integrity. Findings support exercise as a viable strategy to counteract frailty‐induced musculoskeletal decline

Functional Neuroimaging and Transcranial Electrical Stimulation
Transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) is a noninvasive tool for inducing local and widespread neuroplastic changes in brain networks. The combination of tES with various neuroimaging techniques provides whole brain data on the working mechanisms of tES, in particular on the development of large-scale activation patterns of interconnected neuronal ...

Sensory Electrical Stimulation Improves Foot Placement during Targeted Stepping Post-Stroke [PDF]
Proper foot placement is vital for maintaining balance during walking, requiring the integration of multiple sensory signals with motor commands. Disruption of brain structures post-stroke likely alters the processing of sensory information by motor ...
