Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Stochastically modulated inter-pulse intervals to increase the efficiency of functional electrical stimulation cycling

open access: yesJournal of Rehabilitation and Assistive Technologies Engineering, 2018
Introduction Functional electrical stimulation cycling has various health benefits, but the mechanical power output and efficiency are very low compared to volitional muscle activation.

Hybrid and adaptive control of functional electrical stimulation to correct hemiplegic gait for patients after stroke

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2023
Introduction: Gait, as a fundamental human movement, necessitates the coordination of muscles across swing and stance phases. Functional electrical stimulation (FES) of the tibialis anterior (TA) has been widely applied to foot drop correction for ...

DNA‐Templated 2D Heterostructures as Phototriggered Dynamic Nanohybrids: From Releasing Molecular Loads to Controlling Enzyme Biocatalytic Function

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.

High-dose medetomidine increases functional connectivity in the fear-related regions after electrical stimulation

open access: yesScientific Reports
Anesthesia is essential, but not selective, in resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) for pre-clinical studies. To mitigate stress and minimize head-movement artifacts, animals should be anesthetized during resting-state fMRI ...

Tremor Suppression Using Functional Electrical Stimulation

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering
Parkinson’s disease (PD) and essential tremor are two major causes of pathological tremor among people over 60 years old. Due to the side effects and complications of traditional tremor management methods such as medication and deep brain surgery,

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Biomimetic Nanovaccine Integrating Dendritic Cell Exosomes with Tumor Cell Membranes for Sustained Prophylaxis Against Glioblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We have developed DEX/GM, an all‐natural, personalizable hybrid vaccine designed by coating dendritic cell‐derived exosomes (DEX) onto tumor cell membranes (GM) for sustained prophylaxis against glioblastoma (GBM). ABSTRACT Glioblastoma (GBM), one of the most aggressive and lethal brain tumors, remains incurable with a poor clinical prognosis.
