On the Stability of a Functional Equation Associated with the Fibonacci Numbers

open access: yes, 2014
We prove the Hyers-Ulam stability of the generalized Fibonacci functional equation , where and h are given functions.

Transcriptome‐wide analysis of circRNA and RBP profiles and their molecular relevance for GBM

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CircRNAs are differentially expressed in glioblastoma primary tumors and might serve as therapeutic targets and diagnostic markers. The investigation of circRNA and RNA‐binding proteins (RBPs) interactions shows that distinct RBPs play a role in circRNA biogenesis and function.

A Functional Equation in Arithmetic [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1936
which occurs in all theories of numerical functions hitherto considered. The two most highly developed theories of this kind are those in which multiplication in the ring of all numerical functions is abstractly identical with C (Cauchy) or D (Dirichlet) multiplication of infinite series.t Lehmer's five postulates are sufficient for the development of ...

Approximation on the Quadratic Reciprocal Functional Equation

open access: yes, 2014
The quadratic reciprocal functional equation is introduced. The Ulam stability problem for an -quadratic reciprocal mapping between nonzero real numbers is solved.

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

The Laplace transform of Dirichlet L-functions

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2012
In the paper, a formula for the Laplace transform of the square of Dirichlet L-functions on the critical line is obtained.

Chains of fundamental mutually homogeneous functions with a common real eigenvalue

open access: yesSt. Petersburg Polytechnical University Journal: Physics and Mathematics, 2020
This work continues the study of the properties of mutually homogeneous functions, which are a generalization of Euler homogeneous functions and can be used in the synthesis of electric and magnetic fields of electron and ion-optical systems with special

Functional equations with extrema

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1978
in which p and q are known functions, and u is the unknown function, originate from multistage control processes of discrete type (see [I, 21). Bellman [3] showed that if p(.z, U) =: X* + vz and q(x, n) x + an, then the functional equation has a unique solution u(x) = cxz (for some constant c) in a class of functions which pass through the origin, and ...

Comparing self‐reported race and genetic ancestry for identifying potential differentially methylated sites in endometrial cancer: insights from African ancestry proportions using machine learning models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Integrating ancestry, differential methylation analysis, and machine learning, we identified robust epigenetic signature genes (ESGs) and Core‐ESGs in Black and White women with endometrial cancer. Core‐ESGs (namely APOBEC1 and PLEKHG5) methylation levels were significantly associated with survival, with tumors from high African ancestry (THA) showing ...

On the Neumann problem for a hyperbolic partial differential equation of second order [PDF]

open access: yesRendiconti di Matematica e delle Sue Applicazioni, 1998
The paper concerns the Neumann problem for the equation uxy = c. By using the method of G. Fichera, introduced in paper [5] devoted to the Dirichlet problem, necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the solutions are found.
