Quartic functional equations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2005
AbstractIn this paper, we solve a new functional equation f(2x+y)+f(2x−y)=4f(x+y)+4f(x−y)+24f(x)−6f(y) and prove the stability of this equation.

Inhibitor of DNA binding‐1 is a key regulator of cancer cell vasculogenic mimicry

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated expression of transcriptional regulator inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) promoted cancer cell‐mediated vasculogenic mimicry (VM) through regulation of pro‐angiogenic and pro‐cancerous genes (e.g. VE‐cadherin (CDH5), TIE2, MMP9, DKK1). Higher ID1 expression also increased metastases to the lung and the liver.

Solution and Stability of the Multiquadratic Functional Equation

open access: yes, 2013
We consider the multiquadratic functional equation. We establish its general solution and provide a characterization for this functional equation. Finally, we prove the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of this functional equation.

On a type of exponential functional equation and its superstability in the sense of Ger [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, we deal with a type exponential functional equation as follows $$f(xy)=f(x)^{g(y)},$$ where $f$ and $g$ are two real valued functions on a commutative semigroup.

Chemoresistome mapping in individual breast cancer patients unravels diversity in dynamic transcriptional adaptation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

Orthogonalities and functional equations [PDF]

open access: yesAequationes mathematicae, 2014
In this survey we show how various notions of orthogonality appear in the theory of functional equations. After introducing some orthogonality relations, we give examples of functional equations postulated for orthogonal vectors only. We show their solutions as well as some applications.

Hyperstability of the Drygas Functional Equation

open access: yes, 2013
We use the fixed point theorem for functional spaces to obtain the hyperstability result for the Drygas functional equation on a restricted domain. Namely, we show that a function satisfying the Drygas equation approximately must be exactly the solution ...

Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular

Cosine and Sine Addition and Subtraction Law with an Automorphism

open access: yesAnnales Mathematicae Silesianae
Let S be a semigroup. Our main results are that we describe the complex-valued solutions of the following functional equations g(xσ(y))=g(x)g(y)+f(x)f(y),x,y∈S,f(xσ(y))=f(x)g(y)+f(y)g(x),x,y∈S,\matrix{ {g\left( {x\sigma \left( y \right)} \right) = g ...
