TRPM8 levels determine tumor vulnerability to channel agonists

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TRPM8 is a Ca2+ permissive channel. Regardless of the amount of its transcript, high levels of TRPM8 protein mark different tumors, including prostate, breast, colorectal, and lung carcinomas. Targeting TRPM8 with channel agonists stimulates inward calcium currents followed by emptying of cytosolic Ca2+ stores in cancer cells.

ON THE PROBABILISTIC STABILITY OF THE MONOMIAL FUNCTIONAL EQUATION

open access: yes, 2013
Using the fixed point method, we establish a generalized Ulam Hyers stability result for the monomial functional equation in the setting of complete random p-normed spaces.

Systematic profiling of cancer‐fibroblast interactions reveals drug combinations in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Fibroblasts, cells in the tumor environment, support ovarian cancer cell growth and alter morphology and drug response. We used fibroblast and cancer cell co‐culture models to test 528 drugs and discovered new drugs for combination treatment. We showed that adding Vorinostat or Birinapant to standard chemotherapy may improve drug response, suggesting ...

D'Alembert's functional equation on groups

open access: yes, 2013
Given a (not necessarily unitary) character μ : G→ (C\{0}, ·) of a group G we find the solutions g : G→ C of the following version of d’Alembert’s functional equation g(xy) + μ(y)g(xy) = 2g(x)g(y), x, y ∈ G.

Therapeutic applications of a novel humanized monoclonal antibody targeting chemokine receptor CCR9 in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
C–C chemokine receptor type 9 (CCR9) is an immune checkpoint in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Novel anti‐CCR9 antibody SRB2 was evaluated in combination with cytotoxic chemotherapy in PDAC cells, patient‐derived organoids, patient‐derived xenografts, and humanized mouse models.

On the general solution of a functional equation connected to sum form information measures on open domain—III

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1986
In this series, this paper is devoted to the study of a functional equation connected with the characterization of weighted entropy and weighted entropy of degree β.

On the stability of an affine functional equation

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, we obtain the general solution and we prove the generalized Hyers-Ulam stability for an affine functional equation.

Unraveling LINE‐1 retrotransposition in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel RetroTest method allows the detection of L1 activation in clinical samples with low DNA input, providing global L1 activity and the identification of the L1 source element. We applied RetroTest to a real‐world cohort of HNSCC patients where we reported an early L1 activation, with more than 60% of T1 patients showing L1 activity.
