Biodegradable Chitosan Films as Green Resists for Gold Nanowires Fabrication Through AFM‐Based Nanolithography

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of a sustainable nanofabrication process: chitosan derived from natural sources is used as a biodegradable thin film resist, patterned via Constant Pulse‐Assisted Force Lithography (CP‐AFL) to create tunable nanogrooves. These grooves template gold nanowire formation, enabling high‐resolution nanopatterning under ambient ...

Form and Function in the Evolution of Grammar [PDF]

open access: yesCognitive Science, 2016
AbstractThis article focuses on claims about the origin and evolution of language from the point of view of the formalist–functionalist debate in linguistics. Automatic F-Structure Annotation from the AP Treebank [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We present a method for automatically annotating treebank resources with functional structures. The method defines systematic patterns of correspondence between partial PS configurations and functional structures.

Unraveling and Mitigating Resolution Loss in UV‐Assisted Vapor Phase Polymerization of Monolithic PEDOT:Tosylate Electrochromic Patterns

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work aims to understand the origin of pattern deviation in PEDOT:Tos films formed via vapor phase polymerization on UV‐exposed oxidant. UV exposure induces formation of loosely bound water which diffuses and produces macroscopic structuring at increased block copolymer contents.

Functional Grammar

open access: yesAnnual Meeting of the Berkeley Linguistics Society, 1979
The term functional grammar has been used before, notably by Dik (1978). I risk adding to the number of its meanings here, and thus debasing its value, only because it is peculiarly apt for this new employment. I propose to outline a new grammatical formalism which, if it can be successfully developed, will be worthy of the name functional on three ...

Grammar-based genetic programming : a survey

open access: yes, 2010
Grammar formalisms are one of the key representation structures in Computer Science. So it is not surprising that they have also become important as a method for formalizing constraints in Genetic Programming (GP).

The Future of Research in Cognitive Robotics: Foundation Models or Developmental Cognitive Models?

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Research in cognitive robotics founded on principles of developmental psychology and enactive cognitive science would yield what we seek in autonomous robots: the ability to perceive its environment, learn from experience, anticipate the outcome of events, act to pursue goals, and adapt to changing circumstances without resorting to training with ...
