Weak solutions for nonlocal evolution variational inequalities involving gradient constraints and variable exponent

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
In this article, we study a class of nonlocal quasilinear parabolic variational inequality involving $p(x)$-Laplacian operator and gradient constraint on a bounded domain.

Functional inequalities involving special functions

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2006
Let \(_2F_1 (a,b;c;x)\) be a hypergeometric function and let \[ m(r) = {}_2F_1 (a,b;a+b;(1-r^2))/_2F_1 (a,b;a+b;r^2), \quad r \in (0,1). \] The author shows that \[ m(r) + m(s) \geq 2m[ \sqrt(1- \sqrt(( 1-r^2)(1-s^2)))]. \] If \(u_p\) is the generalized and normalized Bessel function and \(\sigma(r) = u_p(1 - r^2)/ u_p (r^2)\), the author proves that \[

Decoding Emotional Signatures of Ethical Ads: An Analysis of Actor‐Viewer Synchrony

open access: yesJournal of Consumer Behaviour, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We examine whether ethical advertisements differ from conventional ads in their on‐screen emotional signatures and whether those signatures transfer to actor‐viewer synchrony. Study 1 analyses 138 professionally produced YouTube ads using Automated Facial Expression Recognition (AFER) and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) to quantify actor ...

Restricted Tweedie stochastic block models

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract The stochastic block model (SBM) is a widely used framework for community detection in networks, where the network structure is typically represented by an adjacency matrix. However, conventional SBMs are not directly applicable to an adjacency matrix that consists of nonnegative zero‐inflated continuous edge weights.

Asymptotic properties of cross‐classified sampling designs

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract We investigate the family of cross‐classified sampling designs across an arbitrary number of dimensions. We introduce a variance decomposition that enables the derivation of general asymptotic properties for these designs and the development of straightforward and asymptotically unbiased variance estimators.

Existence of Full Replica Symmetry Breaking for the Sherrington–Kirkpatrick Model at Low Temperature

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We verify the existence of full replica symmetry breaking (FRSB) for the Sherrington–Kirkpatrick (SK) model and determine the structure of its Parisi measure slightly beyond the high temperature regime. More specifically, we prove that the support of the Parisi measure for the SK model consists of an interval starting at the origin slightly ...

Self‐Similar Blowup for the Cubic Schrödinger Equation

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We give a rigorous proof for the existence of a finite‐energy, self‐similar solution to the focusing cubic Schrödinger equation in three spatial dimensions. The proof is computer‐assisted and relies on a fixed point argument that shows the existence of a solution in the vicinity of a numerically constructed approximation.

On some functional equations related to Steffensen's inequality

open access: yesAnnales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis: Studia Mathematica, 2004
We consider the problem, proposed by the second author (cf. [1]) of solving functional equations stemming from the Steffensen integral inequality (S), which is applicable in actuarial problems, cf. [4].

Invariant Measure and Universality of the 2D Yang–Mills Langevin Dynamic

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We prove that the Yang–Mills (YM) measure for the trivial principal bundle over the two‐dimensional torus, with any connected, compact structure group, is invariant for the associated renormalised Langevin dynamic. Our argument relies on a combination of regularity structures, lattice gauge‐fixing and Bourgain's method for invariant measures ...

Understanding Consumer Behaviour and the Circular Economy Transition in Sustainable Fashion: A Systematic Literature Review

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The fashion industry plays a key role towards global sustainability goals, yet remains among the most sustainability‐impacting sectors. Since 2020, several disruptions—including the Covid‐19 pandemic, geopolitical instability, and ambitious sustainability policies—have dramatically reshaped how consumers interact with fashion. In response, the
