Liquid Crystal Elastomer‐Based Haptic Pixel Arrays at Your Fingertips for Advanced Human–Machine Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We mechanically program liquid crystal elastomer coatings as a stimuli‐responsive and digitally addressable platform for refreshable tactile displays; we validate the perceptual performance of our dynamic device matches conventional static tactile media.

Minimizing Schrödinger eigenvalues for confining potentials

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies
We consider the problem of minimizing the lowest eigenvalue of the Schrödinger operator −Δ + V in L2(Rd) ${L}^{2}({\mathbb{R}}^{d})$ when the integral ∫e −tV  dx is given for some t > 0. We show that the eigenvalue is minimal for the harmonic oscillator

The Functional Orlicz Brunn-Minkowski Inequality for q-Capacity

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2020
In this paper, we establish functional forms of the Orlicz Brunn-Minkowski inequality and the Orlicz-Minkowski inequality for the electrostatic q-capacity, which generalize previous results by Zou and Xiong.

Inequalities for Doubly Nonnegative Functions [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2021
Let $g$ be a bounded symmetric measurable nonnegative function on $[0,1]^2$, and $\left\lVert g \right\rVert = \int_{[0,1]^2} g(x,y) dx dy$. For a graph $G$ with vertices $\{v_1,v_2,\ldots,v_n\}$ and edge set $E(G)$, we define \[  t(G,g) \; = \;  \int_{[0,1]^n} \prod_{\{v_i,v_j\} \in E(G)} g(x_i,x_j) \: dx_1 dx_2 \cdots dx_n \; .\] We conjecture that

Multiobjective Codesign Optimization of a Planar Pneumatic Artificial Muscle‐Based Snake‐Like Robot for Enhanced Agility and Energy Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A codesign multiobjective optimization framework was developed to enhance the morphology and controller of a snake‐like robot driven by artificial muscles. It improved planar locomotion, agility, and power efficiency. The approach optimized link geometry and controller gains, revealing that shorter muscles near joints and longer linkages maximize ...

Hlawka’s functional inequality [PDF]

open access: yesAequationes mathematicae, 2012
The paper is devoted to the functional inequality \[ f(x+y)+f(y+z)+f(x+z)\leq f(x+y+z)+f(x)+f(y)+f(z), \tag{1} \] where a real-valued mapping \(f\) is considered either on an abelian group, or on a vector space, or on the real line. Note that for \(f(x,y)=\|x+y\|^2\) considered on a real or complex inner product space, this inequality is known as ...

Efficient Polarization‐Entangled Photon‐Pair Generation by a Fiber‐In‐Line van der Waals Material

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Telecom‐wavelength polarization‐entangled photon pairs are generated in a van der Waals‐material‐integrated all‐fiber device via spontaneous parametric down‐conversion. The demonstrated fiberized quantum light source bridges emerging 2D nonlinear materials and practical quantum photonic systems, opening new opportunities for scalable fiber‐based ...

Livestock Multi‐Omics Integration: A Systematic Framework From Statistical Association to Causal Interpretation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A three‐tier livestock multi‐omics framework resolves four typical analytical pitfalls. Moving from statistical association through machine learning preprocessing to triple‐modal causal inference, it converts omics results into genomic selection and gene editing strategies to achieve One Health, underpinned by multi‐omics data, multimodal sequencing ...

Stability of Jensen-Type Functional Equations on Restricted Domains in a Group and Their Asymptotic Behaviors

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
We consider the Hyers-Ulam stability problems for the Jensen-type functional equations in general restricted domains. The main purpose of this paper is to find the restricted domains for which the functional inequality satisfied in those domains extends ...

A Forward-Reverse Brascamp-Lieb Inequality: Entropic Duality and Gaussian Optimality

open access: yesEntropy, 2018
Inspired by the forward and the reverse channels from the image-size characterization problem in network information theory, we introduce a functional inequality that unifies both the Brascamp-Lieb inequality and Barthe’s inequality, which is a ...
