Tunable and Recyclable Piezoelectric Biomaterials via Ion‐Directed Guanine‐Quadruplex Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Guanine‐quadruplex (GQ) assemblies, formed via ion‐mediated self‐assembly of amphiphilic guanine derivatives, are introduced as tunable and recyclable piezoelectric biomaterials. Distinct alkali ions induce unique dipole configurations and piezoelectric outputs, with K⁺ yielding the highest performance.

Hydrogen‐Bond‐Rich Supramolecular Multiblock Copolymers Facilitate Rapid Zn2+ Migration in Quasi‐Solid‐State Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The disordered growth of dendrites, corrosion, parasitic side reactions, slow de‐solvation kinetics, and inherent safety risks significantly hinder the practical deployment of conventional liquid electrolyte zinc‐ion batteries. In contrast, the novel PU‐EG+DMPA‐Zn polyurethane quasi‐solid‐state electrolyte, enriched with abundant polar functional ...

Design of Efficient and Mechanically Robust Anion Exchange Membrane for Water Electrolysis Achieved by Chemically Crosslinked Elastomers using Polyfluorene‐Based Conjugated Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐performance SEBS‐PFB AEM is developed by crosslinking SEBS‐amine with polyfluorene‐based crosslinker containing benzene spacer. With the superior electrochemical and mechanical properties, SEBS‐PFB enabled an AEMWE single cell to achieve a high current density of 14.0 A cm−2 at 2.0 V and 80 °C in 1 m KOH, using a PtRu/C cathode and Ni2Fe anode ...

Multi‐Ion Doping Controlled CEI Formation in Structurally‐Stable High‐Energy Monoclinic‐Phase NASICON Cathodes for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The graphical abstract illustrates the synthesis pathway, morphological feature, and thermodynamic feasibility of entropy‐engineered NASICON cathodes for sodium‐ion batteries. Abstract Overcoming the energy density limitations of sodium‐ion batteries (NIBs) requires innovative strategies to optimize cathode materials.

Quantifying Spin Defect Density in hBN via Raman and Photoluminescence Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐optical method is presented for quantifying the density of boron vacancy spin defects in hexagonal boron nitride (hBN). By correlating Raman and photoluminescence signals with irradiation fluence, defect‐induced Raman modes are identified and established an relationship linking optical signatures to absolute defect densities. This enables direct
