Renormalization-group functions and spectral functions

Physical Review D, 1982
The interplay of the spectral representation and the renormalization group is investigated from a global nonperturbative point of view. A simple physical behavior is strongly indicated for quantum electrodynamics at high energies, with features resembling strong-interaction duality and critical phenomena.

Gauge symmetry and the functional renormalization group

International Journal of Modern Physics A, 2017
In the functional renormalization group (FRG), the introduction of a momentum cutoff often breaks symmetry present in a theory. The most important example is the gauge symmetry. However a symmetry survives in the presence of a cutoff in a modified form. We apply our understanding to QED as the simplest case.
