Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

Parasite vulnerability to climate change: an evidence-based functional trait approach
Despite the number of virulent pathogens that are projected to benefit from global change and to spread in the next century, we suggest that a combination of coextinction risk and climate sensitivity could make parasites at least as extinction prone as ...

Development of a Synthetic 3D Platform for Compartmentalized Kidney In Vitro Disease Modeling
A fully synthetic, compartmentalized 3D kidney disease model is introduced. The kidney model combines a PEG‐based hydrogel matrix with anisotropic, enzymatically degradable rod‐shaped microgels to spatially arrange a triple co‐culture of key renal epithelial, endothelial, and fibroblast cells.

xx xx. ABSTRACT Osseointegration of orthopedic and dental implants is influenced by local and systemic factors, including their physicochemical surface properties and the patient's overall health status. Titanium and its alloys have been a longstanding standard for bone implants due to their innate biocompatibility and mechanical properties.

Incorporating intraspecific trait variation into functional diversity: Impacts of selective logging on birds in Borneo [PDF]
1. As conservation increasingly recognises the importance of species’ functional roles in ecosystem processes, studies are shifting away from measuring species richness towards measures that account for the functional differences between species in a ...
