Analysis of Notch1 and Notch3 Signaling Pathway Components in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia and Prostate Cancer Patients

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
This study evaluates the association between Notch1 and Notch3 genetic variations and serum protein levels in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer. While genetic variations showed no significant link to disease risk, serum protein levels were significantly lower in prostate cancer and metastatic groups compared to healthy ...

Klippel‐Trénaunay‐Weber Syndrome: Prenatal Diagnosis and Review of the Literature

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, Volume 53, Issue 3, Page 535-546, March/April 2025.
This meta‐analysis demonstrates the high diagnostic accuracy of SZ‐CEUS for differentiating between malignant and benign focal liver lesions, as well as for HCC from non‐HCC lesions. The study shows better performance for smaller lesions and those with a higher proportion of malignancy.

Diagnostic Accuracy of Shear Wave Elastography for the Assessment of Congestive Liver Disease in Patients With Structural Heart Disease

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
Shear wave elastography demonstrated moderate diagnostic accuracy for detecting congestive liver disease in patients with structural heart disease. Increased liver stiffness was associated with echocardiographic markers of venous congestion, supporting the concept that elastography may serve as a noninvasive marker of cardiohepatic interaction ...

Comparison of Cranial Ultrasound and Amplitude‐Integrated Electroencephalography in Predicting Neurodevelopmental Outcomes in Neonates With Hypoxic–Ischemic Encephalopathy: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
In neonates with hypoxic–ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes (NDO) remain common. Amplitude‐integrated EEG demonstrates strong prognostic value for early prediction, while cranial ultrasound (cUS) provides complementary but less definitive information.

First‐Trimester Crown‐Rump Length and Large for Gestational Age Newborns: What Correlation?

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
Our research found for the first time that uneventful pregnancies with LGA neonates are characterized by larger than expected CRL at the first trimester. CRL is one of the new markers that can be used to early identify fetuses at risk of increased fetal growth.

Diaphragm Ultrasonography Reveals Progressive Changes in Diaphragmatic Function, Morphology, and Muscle Trophism During Invasive Mechanical Ventilation in Children

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
Diaphragm ultrasonography detected progressive structural and functional deterioration in mechanically ventilated children. Prolonged invasive mechanical ventilation and neuromuscular blocking agent use were associated with ventilator‐induced diaphragmatic dysfunction, highlighting ultrasound as a valuable bedside tool to support individualized ...

Extended Versus Non‐Extended Lymphadenectomy in Radical Cystectomy for Bladder Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pelvic lymph node dissection is an essential component of radical cystectomy (RC) for bladder cancer (BC), but the optimal extent of lymphadenectomy remains uncertain. We conducted a systematic review and meta‐analysis to compare oncologic and perioperative outcomes between extended and non‐extended lymphadenectomy during RC for BC.

Transoral Robotic Surgery in Head and Neck Oncology: A Scoping Review of Evidence, Technological Advancements, and Future Trajectories

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Robotic surgery has transformed head and neck cancer (HNC) treatment. This scoping review synthesizes evidence on transoral robotic surgery (TORS), focusing on applications, limitations, and future directions. Following PRISMA‐ScR guidelines, this review used the PCC framework (Population: HNC patients; Concept: technological advancements ...

Chronic, Environmentally Relevant PM2.5 Exposure Exacerbates Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease and Early‐Stage Renal Dysfunction in a Rodent Model

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT While epidemiological studies link fine particulate matter (PM2.5) exposure to metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and renal dysfunction, a translational gap exists, as most animal models utilize acute, high‐dose exposures that poorly reflect chronic, moderate‐level human scenarios.
