Vibration of deploying rectangular cross-sectional beam made of functionally graded materials
Transverse vibration and stability of deploying rectangular cross-sectional cantilever beam made of functionally graded material are investigated. The functionally graded material beam is assumed to be constructed with ceramics and metal phases, and the ...

Modal analysis of functionally graded Timoshenko beam [PDF]
Dynamic analysis of FGM Timoshenko beam is formulated in the frequency domain taking into account the actual position of neutral plane. The problem formulation enables to obtain explicit expressions for frequency equation, natural modes and frequency ...

An elasticity solution for functionally graded beams
An elasticity solution is obtained for a functionally graded beam subjected to transverse loads. The Young’s modulus of the beam is assumed to vary exponentially through the thickness, and the Poisson ratio is held constant. The exponential variation of the elastic stiffness coefficients allow an exact solution for the elasticity equations.

Modeling of vibration for functionally graded beams
In this study, a vibration problem of Euler-Bernoulli beam manufactured with Functionally Graded Material (FGM), which is modelled by fourth-order partial differential equations with variable coefficients, is examined by using the Adomian Decomposition ...

Bending of bidirectional functionally graded nonlocal stress-driven beam
This paper provides a comprehensive analysis, using nonlocal stress-driven integral theory, of the static behavior of a nanoscale beam of bidirectionally graded materials. After a brief explanation of the mathematical formulation of BDFGMs, the work done

Theories and Analysis of Functionally Graded Beams [PDF]
This is a review paper containing the governing equations and analytical solutions of the classical and shear deformation theories of functionally graded straight beams. The classical, first-order, and third-order shear deformation theories account for through-thickness variation of two-constituent functionally graded material, modified couple stress ...
