Free Vibration Analysis of Functionally Graded Beams

open access: yesDefence Science Journal, 2012
Free vibration analysis of functionally graded beams is carried out for various classical boundary conditions. Two separate finite element formulations, one based on Euler-Bernoulli beam theory and other based on Timoshenko beam theory are developed. Principle of virtual work is used to obtain the finite element system of equations.

Thermal Buckling of Functionally Graded Biocompatible Foam Beams

open access: yesHavacılık ve Uzay Teknolojileri Dergisi
This study examined functionally graded foam beam thermal buckling. The functionally graded beam was made of biocompatible Ti6Al4V metal (bottom surface) and ceramic zirconia (top surface), which changed function with thickness.

Analyzing The Behavior of Classical Functionally Graded Coated Beam

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
The governing equation of a classical rectangular coated beam made of two homogeneous layers at top ceramic coated layer and bottom metal layer and also single Functionally Graded Material (FGM) as a sub coated layer subjected to uniform distributed ...

Non-linear forced vibration study of axially functionally graded non-uniform beams by using Broyden method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In the forced vibration case due to external loading deflection tends to higher value so beam element undergoes the non-linearity behavior. Basically non linearity is categorized into two parts material and geometric non-linearity. Due to large amplitude

Thermomechanical buckling oftemperature-dependent FGM beams

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
Buckling of beams made of functionally graded materials (FGM) under thermomechanical loading is analyzed herein. Properties of the constituents are considered to be functions of temperature and thickness coordinate.

Large amplitude free vibration analysis of functionally graded beams using an homogenisation procedure

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2012
The purpose of the present paper is to show that the problem of geometrically non linear free vibrations of functionally graded (FG) beams with immovable ends can be reduced to that of isotropic homogeneous beams with effective bending stiffness and ...
