Longitudinal vibration analysis of strain gradient bars made of functionally graded materials (FGM)

open access: yesComposites Part B: Engineering, 2013
Abstract Longitudinal free vibration analysis of axially functionally graded microbars is investigated on the basis of strain gradient elasticity theory. Functionally graded materials can be defined as nonhomogeneous composites which are obtained by combining of two different materials in order to obtain a new desired material.

Multi-material 3D printing of functionally graded soft-hard interfaces for enhancing mandibular kinematics of temporomandibular joint replacement prostheses

open access: yesCommunications Materials
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) replacement prostheses often face limitations in accommodating translational movements, leading to unnatural kinematics and loading conditions, which affect functionality and longevity.

Analysing the sability of FGM plates by employing higher-order shear deformation theory

open access: yesTạp chí Khoa học Đại học Mở Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh - Kỹ thuật và Công nghệ, 2014
In this paper, the finite element method is intergated with the C0-typehigher-order shear deformation theory (HSDT) for mechanical and thermal buckling analyses of functionally graded material plates (FGM). In the FGM, the material properties are assumed

Application of functionally graded materials for severe plastic deformation and smart materials: experimental study and finite element analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Functionally graded materials (FGMs) refer to the composite materials where the compositions or the microstructures are locally varied so that a certain variation of the local material properties is achieved.
