Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Corrosion Behavior of (Copper/Nickel) step-wise Functionally Graded Materials [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Foundry Engineering
The present paper involves studying of the corrosion behaviour of five layers Cu/Ni Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs) in a 3.5 % NaCl solution to examine corrosion potentials (Ecorr.), corrosion current densities (icorr.) and Tafel slope. Three series

Application of functionally graded materials for severe plastic deformation and smart materials: experimental study and finite element analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Functionally graded materials (FGMs) refer to the composite materials where the compositions or the microstructures are locally varied so that a certain variation of the local material properties is achieved.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Multi-Material Ultrasonic Consolidation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Ultrasonic consolidation (UC) is a recently developed direct metal solid freeform fabrication process. While the process has been well-demonstrated for part fabrication in Al alloy 3003 H18, including with intricate cooling channels, some of the ...

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Design and Analysis of Porous Functionally Graded Femoral Prostheses with Improved Stress Shielding

open access: yesDesigns, 2020
One of the most important problems of total hip replacement is aseptic loosening of the femoral component, which is related to the changes of the stress distribution pattern after implantation of the prosthesis.
