Group and Phase Velocity of Love Waves Propagating in Elastic Functionally Graded Materials

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2015
This paper presents a theoretical study of the propagation behaviour of surface Love waves in nonhomogeneous functionally graded elastic materials, which is a vital problem in acoustics.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Polymer-based functionally graded multi-material additive manufacturing via material extrusion: Interfacial mechanisms and gradient design strategies

open access: yesNext Materials
Due to their ability to achieve spatially varying material and enhanced mechanical properties, reduce stress concentration and enable multifunctional behaviour within a single component, the functionally graded multi-materials (FGMMs) have attracted ...

Design, modeling, and manufacturing of functionally graded sandwich panels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Sandwich materials are structures made of two stiff skins and a softer lightweight core in between them. The function of the core is to separate the face sheets without significantly increasing the weight, thus increasing the moment of in- ertia of ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Non-linear dynamical analysis of imperfect functionally graded material shallow shells

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mechanics, 2010
Dynamical behaviors of functionally graded material shallow shells with geometrical imperfections are studied in this paper. The material properties are graded in the thickness direction according to the power-law distribution in terms of volume ...

dUTPase is essential in zebrafish development and possesses several single‐nucleotide variants with pronounced structural and functional consequences

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...
