Fine evaluation of ecological service functions in alpine and deep valley regions: A case study of the southeast Tibetan Plateau

open access: yesEcological Indicators
Refined evaluation of ecosystem service functions in deep valleys in high mountain areas is an important means of precise protection of ecosystems. As the population continues to increase, human needs and demands on ecosystems continue to increase, and ...

NFaaS: Named Function as a Service [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In the past, the Information-centric networking (ICN) community has focused on issues mainly pertaining to traditional content delivery (e.g., routing and forwarding scalability, congestion control and in-network caching). However, to keep up with future

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Relationship between early-stage forest structure characteristics and ecological service functions of Eucalyptus

open access: yesHuanan Nongye Daxue xuebao
ObjectiveThis study aimed to analyze the relationship between the stand structure and ecological service functions of early-stage Eucalyptus plantations, clarify the impact of stand structure on ecological service functions, and provide a theoretical ...

Reachability Analysis of Function-as-a-Service Scheduling Policies

open access: yes
Functions-as-a-Service (FaaS) is a Serverless Cloud paradigm where a platform manages the execution (e.g., scheduling, runtime environments) of stateless functions. Recently, domain-specific languages like APP and aAPP have been developed to express per-function scheduling policies, e.g., enforcing the allocation of functions on nodes that enjoy low ...

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Report on a visit to Momase Coastal Fisheries Development Project - GTZ - Papua New Guinea. Fish handling, processing and marketing. 16 July - 11 August 1992 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Efforts are being made to increase the data available on the fish production and fishing effort in the project area. Similar efforts are required to collect data on the marketing of fish through the project landings so that a complete picture of the ...

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.
