Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Noncommutative Symmetric Functions VII: Free Quasi-Symmetric Functions Revisited [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We prove a Cauchy identity for free quasi-symmetric functions and apply it to the study of various bases. A free Weyl formula and a generalization of the splitting formula are also discussed.Comment: 21 pages, Latex, 2 ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Design and Synthesis of Flavonoidal Ethers and Their Anti-Cancer Activity In Vitro

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Flavonoids are well-characterized polyphenolic compounds with pharmacological and therapeutic activities. However, most flavonoids have not been developed into clinical drugs, due to poor bioavailability.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Cyclovirobuxine D ameliorates cardiomyocyte senescence in diabetic cardiomyopathy mice by enhancing mitochondrial function via sirtuin 3–ATP5O signal axis

open access: yesChinese Medicine
Background Diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a cardiovascular complication, with cardiomyocyte senescence being a key pathological process. Cyclovirobuxine D (CVB-D), the active compound in Buxus sinica (Rehd. et Wils.) var. parvifolia M. Cheng. CVB-D has

Selective ERK1/2 agonists isolated from Melia azedarach with potent anti-leukemic activity

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2019
Background MAPK/ERK kinases transmit signals from many growth factors/kinase receptors during normal cell growth/differentiation, and their dysregulation is a hallmark of diverse types of cancers.
